G-QRP Club Awards. This is a summary of the G-QRP Club Awards. For more info (as of Jan. 89) A. D. Taylor G8PG 37, Pickerill Road, Greasby, Merseyside L49 3ND England. NOTE. G-QRP club recently redefined CW 'QRP'. It had been defined as 5-Watts DC power INPUT but was redefined to be 5-Watts RF OUTPUT (as mentioned in SPRAT #57, Winter 88/89). QSL cards specifying 5W output will be accepted if dated 1st Jan 1988 or later. SSB level is 10W PEP. I presume this change is reflected in all these awards and have modified the wording where appropriate, but to be sure contact G8PG. Worked G-QRP club award. Open to members and non-members who after Jan 1st, 1975 work 20 G-QRP club members. Endorsements issued for each additional 20 members worked. Heard G-QRP club award. QRP WAC Issued to any member who works all 6 continents while QRP. General Award Rules. 1. The applicant must either submit QSLs for all contacts OR a list, signed by two licensed amateurs, stating that they have seen QSLs for the contacts. For two-way QRP the power used MUST appear on all cards. 2. For the transmitting Awards the claimant must submit a signed declaration of the following form: "I .... certify that during the contacts upon which this claim is based, my power output did not exceed 5W RF. SIGNED, DATED". (This is affected by the rule change as mentioned at the beginning). 3. (a) The whole contact, including any calls necessary to establish communication must be made with a power output not exceeding 5W. (b) This is now obsolete due to power limit change. It specified that 5W DC input would be considered equal to 3.6W RF output. (c) When SSB is used the power limit is 10W PEP. FEE for awards. My rather old award list specifies 30 pence or 3 IRCs for each award to cover postage costs.
