CrossDOS Utilities

We at CONSULTRON would like to thank you for purchasing CrossDOS.  We
are  always  trying  to  provide  you with a quality product for your
productivity needs.

The  files  included  with this archive are new and replacement files
for   the  utilities  provided  on  the  CrossDOS  (full  READ/WRITE)
installation  disk.   [Please  make  a  copy of the installation disk
first].

Most  of  the changes are to provide better WORKBENCH support.  Three
new  utilities  have  been  added  which are, a global text filter, a
diskchange  command  usable from WORKBENCH and a utility to mount and
load  an  MS-DOS device without having to install the product on your
system   disks.   To  use  the  global  text  filter  you  must  have
"L/MSDOSFileSystem"    updated    to   V4.00a.    Patches   to   both
"L/MSDOSFileSystem"  and "DEVS/mfm.device" can be found in a separate
file called "CDP400.lzh".

Installing the New/Revised CrossDOS Utilities

You can install the files from either WORKBENCH or the CLI.

To install the files from the CLI, type the following:

    cd <file_dir>                ; the directory where the files are.
    execute patchMFS_Utilities df0:   ; df0:  or drive where CrossDOS
                                      ; disk in.

To  install the files from WORKBENCH, select the "patchMFS_Utilities"
icon   and   extend-select   (with   shift  key  held)  the  CrossDOS
installation  disk  icon.   ["ICONX"  is  assumed  to be in your "C:"
directory.]

Once the files are applied, you should re-install the new files onto
your system disk.

Distribution Rights

Please  distribute  this  archive INTACT to any legal bulletin board.
We  are  allowing  registered purchasers of CrossDOS to upgrade their
version of the product (Version 4) to the current release at no cost.
Those  who  do not have access to these files may send in $10.00, the
original  disk,  and the completed warranty card.  We will update the
disk to the current version and send it back.

Updating "pirated" versions of CrossDOS are legally prohibited.
