TITLE :PRB: Screen Not Refreshed When Using WindowShade
PRODUCT :Microsoft FoxPro
PROD/VER:2.60a
OPER/SYS:MACINTOSH
KEYWORDS:kb3rdparty kbprb

---------------------------------------------------------------------
The information in this article applies to:

 - Microsoft FoxPro for Macintosh version 2.6a
---------------------------------------------------------------------

SYMPTOMS
========

Using WindowShade to roll up the Page Preview window in the Report Writer
results in a Page Preview title bar that may be moved independently of the
document window. Clicking the document window for a zoom causes the window
to be redrawn in a new position, leaving behind graphical residue from the
window's previous position both during the preview and after exiting.

CAUSE
=====

WindowShade, a Control-Panel utility available with Apple's System 7.5
operating system, allows FoxPro windows with title bars to be minimized.
FoxPro does not anticipate this behavior and manage its graphic resources
accordingly.

NOTE: WindowShade is manufactured by a vendor independent of Microsoft; we
make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's
performance or reliability.

RESOLUTION
==========

Do not minimize the the Page Preview window.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior
---------------------------

1. With WindowShade active, preview an existing report in the Command
   Window:

   REPORT FORM MYREPORT PREVIEW

2. Click the Page Preview title bar the number of times defined under
   WindowShade to roll up the window.

3. Move the title bar down and to the right about an inch in each
   direction. Note that the report image does not move with the title
   bar and that some gray graphic background is left behind.

4. Click the lower right of the report image. Note that it zooms in a new
   position, leaving unwanted graphics behind.
