Microsoft Access and FoxPro Developer SIGs
Q&A Document

Q1: I have heard about the Microsoft Access or FoxPro Developer
Programs. How do they relate to the Microsoft Access and FoxPro
Developer SIGs?

A1: The Microsoft Access and FoxPro Developer Programs announced at
Comdex have been re-introduced as part of the Microsoft Developer
Network. At that time we were not able to provide the additional
technical content now available in the new Microsoft Developer Network.
In an effort to make sure developers get the information they need to get
the most out of Microsoft Access and FoxPro, we incorporated these
programs into the Developer Network as Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
We believe this will be a signfiicant advantage to developers who create
applications with Microsoft products.

Q2: What is the Microsoft Developer Network?

A2: The Microsoft Developer Network is the single definitive source of
technical information for all Windows developers. The Microsoft
Developer Network is the official channel for delivering technical
information to those developers who write applications for the Windows
operating system and those developers who use Microsoft products for
development purposes.

The Developer Network CD is the official vehicle for delivering all the
information you need to program for the Windows and Windows NT operating
systems. The April 1993 Developer Network CD contains over 100,000 pages
of critical technical programming information on all Microsoft
development products. This includes the latest specifications on WOSA
(Windows Open Services Architecture), MAPI (Messaging Application
Programming Interface), ODBC (Open Database Connectivity), and OLE
(Object Linking and Embedding). The Developer Network CD also delivers
the Microsoft Developer Knowledge Base, which contains over 8,000
articles with bug reports and workarounds on all Microsoft development
products, including Microsoft Access, FoxPro, LAN Manager, and SQL
Server. Everything on the CD is accessible, searchable, and viewable
using the powerful Windows-based viewer application that comes with the
CD.

Q3: What are the benefits of membership in the Microsoft Developer
Network?

A3: The Microsoft Developer Network includes:
*	4 quarterly updates of the Microsoft Developer Network CD
*	6 bimonthly issues of the Microsoft Developer Network News
*	20 percent discount on Microsoft Press* books
*	Invitations to conferences
*	A membership kit explaining the Developer Network and how you can
maximize your benefits.

Q4: What benefits will members of the Microsoft Access or FoxPro
Developer SIG receive?

A4: SIG members receive the full benefits of membership in the Microsoft
Developer Network. In addition to these base benefits, Microsoft Access
and FoxPro Developer SIG members will benefit from enhanced technical
support, a closer relationship with the product group and a Welcome
Binder for the Microsoft Access or FoxPro Developer SIG. New or current
membership in the Developer Network is required to join the SIGs.

SIG specific benefits include:
*	Priority technical support
*	3 months of free access to the MSACCESS or FOXFORUM on CompuServe
*	A welcome binder filled with
*	Resource information
*	Mailings on popular technical topics
*	Sample code and utilities diskette
*	A free copy of the Windows Interface Guide
*	and more

Q5: How much do the Microsoft Access and FoxPro Developer SIGs cost?

A5: Each SIG is available for $295 per year for non-Microsoft Developer
Network members or for an incremental $100 per SIG for current members to
the Microsoft Developer Network.

Q6: What if I am already a member of the Microsoft Access or FoxPro
Developer Programs?

A6: Your membership will automatically be transferred over to the
appropriate SIG. No further action is required.

Q7: How do I order the program?

A7: You may contact the Microsoft Developer Services Team at (800) 227-
4679 to request an enrollment kit. You may also request the Microsoft
Access Developer Program order form by calling the DST fax server at
(206) 635-2222 and requesting publications 310 for Access or 311 for
FoxPro. Since these publication numbers are subject to change, you may
want to request the complete list of publications the first time you call
the fax server. Enrollment forms can be returned by fax or by mail to
the address listed on the enrollment form.

Q8: I already subscribe to the Microsoft Developer Network. How can I
order the enhanced support as an Access or Fox developer?

A8: The Access Developer Program and the Fox Developer Program are SIGs
of the MSDN. Current Developer Network members can add the Microsoft
Access or FoxPro Developer SIGs for an additional $100 per SIG. Just
request the enrollment form as mentioned above and complete the SIG
portion of the order form. The SIG program is only available to members
of the Microsoft Developer Network. If orders are received from
enrollees who are not enrolled in the Developer Network, the orders will
be returned.

Q9: If I have tools, technical notes or sample applications that I would
like to contribute to the database SIGs, what do I need to do?

A9: Drop a note to the Database Developer Coordinator, Microsoft
Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052 or send a CompuServe
message to Sysop on the MSACCESS or FOXFORUM. If you upload files to
CompuServe - please be sure to indicate that the files are meant for the
Microsoft Access or FoxPro Developer SIG.
