Sigma Designs Expands Availability of its ReelMagic MPEG Technology in the
Asian Market

Midori Electronics Co. of Japan and Oksori Co. of Korea Sign Purchase
Agreements for ReelMagic

FREMONT, Calif., April 20, 1994 -- Sigma Designs, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMM), a
leading manufacturer of multimedia computer products, today announced that
it has expanded the availability of its ReelMagic MPEG playback technology
in the Asian market. Purchase agreements for ReelMagic have been signed by
Midori Electronics Co., Ltd. of Japan and Oksori Co., Ltd. of Korea. These
new agreements represent Sigma Designs' commitment to penetrating the
technology-intensive Asian market with its breakthrough ReelMagic
technology.

Under the terms of the agreement between Sigma Designs and Midori
Electronics Co. Ltd., Midori Electronics will custom design an add-in
board for NEC PC-9800 series systems, using key ReelMagic technology and
components. The new product, ViewMagic 98, will be manufactured by Sigma
Designs and available to Midori Electronics in June 1994 for distribution
in the Japanese market.

In addition, the agreement with Oksori Co., Ltd. and Sigma Designs
stipulates that Oksori will customize Sigma Designs' ReelMagic controller
for the Korean market, bundle with Korean software tides and distribute to
the Korean market as a complement to Oksori's existing PC sound products.
Shipments of ReelMagic to Oksori will commence immediately.
