NEW VERSION OF 4MOST IMAGE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

IMAGE-ENABLES APPLICATIONS WITHOUT PROGRAM MODIFICATIONS

NEW YORK, April 19, 1994 -- 4i Solutions, Inc., a leading developer of
host-based imaging software products, released a new version of its MS
Windows-based 4Most Document Management software at the AIIM Show today
that allows users to image-enable their existing data processing
applications without software modifications or access to program source
code.

The 4Most Version 1.2 document manager lets users associate data by file
type so any file such as spreadsheets, word processing, etc. can be
presented by whatever program is in use at the time. Users can then
immediately and automatically find, select, view, print, scan or input
multiple documents, specific pages or document folders at the same time
from the same screen.

New features found in 4Most 1.2 include access to recognition servers for
handprint, machine print and barcode recognition and a screen scraper for
DOS or Windows applications.

In addition, an innovative "requester" interface enables users to access
both text and image data from multiple networked database servers
throughout an enterprise or workgroup, regardless of the database
management system employed, i.e., Informix, Oracle, Sybase, Paradox,
dBase, Btrieve, etc.

According to Douglas J. Russo, executive vice president and chief operating
officer of 4i Solutions, 4Most 1.2 permits users to archive and retrieve
document images from any storage device on the network on demand, using
4Most as a standalone system or with existing business applications
executed on a PC or on a host computer.

Russo explained that with 4Most's new screen scraper feature, any other
application's text information can be used as a search key. By entering a
single keystroke or mouse click, 4Most users can, on demand, lift the text
from a given application and execute a script defined by the user. The
text area to "scrape" can be defined as a specific screen area (row or
column) or text following user-defined keywords such as "account" or
"policy".

4Most employs a distributed database scheme consisting of primary and
secondary databases. For example, the network's primary database can be
accessed to retrieve a given folder from one server, while a secondary
database can be accessed to view the contents of the folder from another
server. Users can archive and retrieve information by folder, by document
within a folder, or by page(s) within a document, within a distributed
processing or client/server network configuration.

Russo also stated that because 4Most runs in native MS Windows mode,
current Windows users can access existing applications for terminal
emulation, word processing, image editing, fax, voice, OCR, etc.

"4Most is a completely standalone system that requires no programming and
is completely modular and scalable," said Khoi Turner, 4i Solutions vice
president of product development. "There is no requirement to reconfigure
an existing application. Existing security procedures can be maintained
since 4Most supports multiple security levels by workgroup, user, document
and even by page."

Turner noted that since all images and image indices are managed by 4Most,
imaging functions (display, print, rotate, zoom, etc.) are directed by the
user rather than the host application itself. Users can scan and/or import
documents by batch or interactive mode, and documents may be text or voice
annotated down to the page level and subsequently stored on disk.

"Since its inception, 4i Solutions has continuously conducted extensive
market research. As a result, we have been dedicated to the principle that
imaging is a technology that must be integrated with existing business
applications. Business applications are the tools used to operate a
company. Images are just one of several data types that must be accessible
in an interactive environment, in order to make prompt, accurate
decisions. As a benefit, the 'less paper' office becomes a reality," Russo
concluded.

4Most is now shipping to 4i Solutions' worldwide network of value-added
resellers. Pricing begins at under $2,000 for a basic archiving and
retrieval system.

Established in 1991, 4i Solutions, Inc. is a privately-held company that
develops and markets a family of hardware-independent image processing
software products that can be integrated with any existing or new
application program.
