Zoom Unveils New "Zoom Business Products" Line

BOSTON, MA, MAY 23, 1996 - Zoom Telephonics, a high-volume manufacturer of
faxmodems, today announced its new Zoom Business Products line, a family
of communications products tailored to the specific needs of business
users. The product line will be sold to businesses through value-added
resellers and dealers. Zoom will present the new line at the Comdex/Spring
'96 trade show in Chicago, June 3-6, showcasing the innovative
Zoom/MultiLine FaxModem.

The Zoom/MultiLine sets new standards of economy, port density,
flexibility, and power efficiency. Eight-channel and four-channel versions
are available, using independent V.34 28.8 Kbps or V.32bis 14.4 Kbps
faxmodem modules in a single attractive 11" x 8" x 2" case. Additional
faxmodem modules can be added quickly and easily to the four-channel
versions without shutting down other ports.

The Zoom Business Products line also includes faxmodems in external,
internal, and PCMCIA form factors. Features include flash memory, enhanced
protection from lightning, priority technical support, and extended
warranty.

"The Zoom/MultiLine is the flagship product of the new Zoom Business
Products line," said Eugene Chang, Vice President of Strategic Business
Development at Zoom. "It is ideal for use with fax servers or
communications servers that need multiple modems, as well as with routers
and remote access devices," he said.

Until now, many users have resorted to stacks of individual modems,
cluttering their offices and risking reliable operations; or they have
installed costly rack modems. The Zoom/MultiLine FaxModem provides a neat,
rugged package that is easy to install anywhere multiple modems are
needed.

A single Zoom/MultiLine case holds up to eight modules. Each MultiLine
module is a Rockwell-based serial V.34 28.8 Kbps faxmodem or V.32bis 14.4
Kbps voice/faxmodem. All modules include 14.4 Kbps Class 1 and 2 fax,
flash memory, configuration-protection, Caller ID, V.42, V.42bis, MNP 2-5,
MNP 10ECTM, NVRAM, and robust SIDACtor lightning and surge protection. The
front panel features a reset button and 3 status lights for each channel.
Each Zoom/MultiLine comes with a single in-line switching power supply,
which minimizes power cord clutter and simplifies installation.

Headquartered in Boston since its establishment in 1977, Zoom Telephonics
is a leading designer, producer, and marketer of faxmodems and related
products for the home and office. Zoom Telephonics is publicly traded on
NASDAQ (NASDAQ: ZOOM).
