VeriFone to Demonstrate Internet Payment Solutions at Internet World

MENLO PARK, Calif. -- April 29, 1996 -- VeriFone, Inc. (NYSE:VFI) will
display at the Internet World Show in San Jose this week, its secure
payment solutions that are under development. These solutions are designed
to allow consumers and merchants to conduct electronic commerce over the
Internet. Demonstrations will take place in booth #C 200 at the show.

VeriFone's Internet Commerce Division, and Garden Escape, a virtual
merchant on the World Wide Web, will demonstrate an Internet shopping and
payment experience highlighting the transaction flow from a consumer's PC
to a merchant's 'store.' The demonstration will take audience members
through the Garden Escape 'store', where they can add items to a virtual
shopping cart, 'check out', and submit the order directly to the merchant
web server.
