TriTeal's Enterprise Desktop Software is Approved for FISC BOA

Government-wide Buying Vehicle Now Includes TED

Carlsbad, CA -- May 20, 1996 -- TriTeal Corporation, a leading open systems
enterprise desktop and system software provider, today announced that TED
-- the TriTeal Enterprise Desktop -- is approved and available to
government agencies through the Fleet Industrial Supply Center (FISC)
Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00140-96-G-0974. FISC and the FISC BOA was
established by the Defense Information System Agency (DISA) as a vehicle
for government purchasing, licensing, and distribution of commercial
off-the-shelf (COTS) products.

TED is a leading enterprise desktop product which, from a single source
base, operates across multiple platforms, including Sun, IBM, HP, SGI,
Digital, AT&T, MS Windows, and others. TED is branded by The Open Group as
CDE (Common Desktop Environment) compliant, thus certifying TED as an open
systems product. TED also includes a PC-to-UNIX interoperability solution
called NTED, which allows workstation users to run Microsoft Windows
applications running at native speed.

"Now that TED 4.0 is accepted and available as a COTS product through the
FISC BOA," said Bob Ruhe, TriTeal's vice president of the federal systems
group, "government customers are assured of obtaining enterprise software
that can be distributed and properly updated in a manner consistent with
FISC operations." TED will be part of DISA's development of a Defense
Information Infrastructure Common Operating Environment (DII-COE) for use
by all DoD agencies. The common desktop is one of the six basic functions
of the COE kernel layer. In addition to the core CDE technology, TED
includes a variety of features, enhancements and integrated modules. For
example, TED includes TEDvision, an integrated browser which allows the
user to browse remote and local file systems, as well as the Internet and
Intranet. TED also includes TEDfax, a client/server fax product which is
integrated with other applications on the desktop, such as the calendar,
editor, and e-mail system.

TEDsecure is an integrated data-level module which may be purchased
separately. TEDsecure provides encryption, decryption and authorization
for data and applications in an open systems environment. TEDsecure was
designed in conjunction with the National Security Agency (NSA), and uses
the Fortezza approach for a trusted hardware and software security
solution.
