BUREAU OF ELECTRONIC PUBLISHING, INC. & AMERICAN MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION
ANNOUNCE FORMATION OF A NEW COMPANY

MAY 24, 1996 - NEW YORK, NEW YORK --- BUREAU OF ELECTRONIC PUBLISHING, INC.
(NASDAQ: BEPI), a major CD-ROM developer and publisher now doing business
under the name of THYNX, and AMERICAN MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION (AMA), the
New York Board of Regents-incorporated educator, which is the world's
leading management education and training organization, announced today a
cooperative undertaking to be called AMACOM NEW MEDIA, INC.

The new company is being co-funded by Thynx and AMA and is designed to
expand the reach of the AMA's management education materials (contained in
its seminars, books, periodicals, and other educational and training
products) through Thynx's seven years of development and marketing
expertise in the CD-ROM industry.

"Amacom New Media will broaden the reach of AMA's considerable management
knowledge onto new markets," says WELDON RACKLEY, Director of Publications
at AMA. "The CD-ROM series will build on AMA's 73 years experience in
providing educational products and services to the management community."

"Both AMA and Thynx emphasize learning and education," says Larry Shiller,
President and CEO of Thynx. "Our complementary strengths will result in
high-quality CD-ROM titles defined to meet the management education needs
of business professionals at a consumer price."

Amacom New Media will launch the first in a series of CD-ROMs beginning in
February 1997. "Each title will be designed to help users acquire or
improve a specific management skill," says WENDY COHEN, producer for
Amacom New Media. "Our AMA heritage guarantees a useful content-rich
product and our Thynx background ensures its delivery in a media-rich
environment. We will also include on-line features where appropriate."

Thynx (www.thynx.com) was founded in 1988 to enrich, empower and entertain.
Its best-selling CD-ROM titles include Great Literature Plus, World
History Interactive, Monarch Notes and Everything Weather. Today Thynx is
an important developer of award-winning educational CD-ROMs for the
consumer and library/education markets.
