Allied Telesyn Facilities receive ISO 9001 Certification

Certification underscores Allied Telesyn's commitment to excellence

BOTHELL, Wash., May 14, 1996-Allied Telesyn International announced today
that its Sunnyvale, California and Bothell, Washington facilities received
ISO 9001-1994 certification, covering the design, development,
manufacturing, and sales processes of local-area and wide-area network
components.

"Our commitment has always been to adhere to design and manufacturing
processes that support the highest quality standards," said Takiyoshi
Oshima, Allied Telesyn Chairman and CEO. "The ISO 9001 certification
offers further testimony that our processes conform to this
internationally accepted standard and reinforces our ongoing commitment to
maintaining consistent product quality."

ISO 9000 is a series of universal standards for establishing and
maintaining a quality assurance system. ISO 9001, the quality system model
of the ISO 9000 series, provides a comprehensive contractual guideline for
developing, documenting, and maintaining quality processes throughout the
product cycle including design, development, production, distribution and
service. This comprehensive standard was substantially updated and revised
in 1994.

The audits at the Sunnyvale and Bothell locations were conducted by DNV
Certification, Inc., the leading ISO 9000 registrar in the United States.

"The ISO 9001 certification we recently earned was a truly company- wide
accomplishment," said Jim Lynch, Senior Vice President of Worldwide
Materials. "The covenant represented by the ISO certification underscores
Allied Telesyn's ongoing commitment to excellence in serving our
customers."
