SUNSOFT UNVEILS INTERNET CONNECTIVITY PRODUCTS

Server Products support dedicated and dial-up connections to the Internet

MENLO PARK, CA - MAY 14, 1996 - SunSoft Inc., the Internet Software
company, today announced advanced Internet connectivity products, Solstice
Point to Point Protocol (PPP) 3.0.1 and Solstice Frame Relay 2.0.
software. Frame Relay offers considerable cost savings to customers who
want to transition from dedicated leased line and PPP offers small to
medium size remote offices wide-area communications without the overhead
of dedicated routing equipment.

Solstice PPP 3.0.1 provides extended Internet connectivity for Solaris
systems (SPARC and x86). With Solstice PPP, a Solaris system acts as an
internetwork router and supports all IP applications transparently over
both leased-lines (synchronous) and dialup (asynchronous) connections.

"PPP is emerging as the preferred Internet access method," said Jean-Pierre
Baudouin, Director of SunSoft's Telecommunications Products. "Solstice PPP
provides the basis for a truly comprehensive PPP server, as well as an
easy-to-use client product. Together with SunSoft's other Internet
products, Solstice PPP provides a complete Internet solution in a single
box."

Solstice Frame Relay 2.9 is a cost-effective, high-performance networking
product for interconnecting remote LANs across a WAN without the need for
any additional intermediate hardware. It also provides high-speed access
to the Internet, giving users access to standard Internet applications
such as the World Wide Web.

A SPARC station running Solstice Frame Relay can achieve data transfer
rates of up to 64Kbps without additional hardware, and of up to 2Mbps with
the addition of a high-speed synchronous interface. "Solstice Frame Relay
is the ideal solution for connecting servers handling extensive quantities
of multimedia data, such as those used by Internet and World Wide Web
providers", continued Jean-Pierre Baudouin.

Solstice PPP supports a wide range of modems and hardware interfaces. It
will be available for SPARC and Solaris x86 platforms on March 11, 1996.
Solstice Frame Relay is also available for Solaris SPARC stations, on
April 22, 1996. Prices start at $995 for Solstice PPP, and $1,295 for
Frame Relay.
