Spyglass Licenses Web Technology Kits to PLATINUM Technologies 

PLATINUM Plans to Web-Enable Entire Product Line with Spyglass Technology 

Naperville, Ill.--April 25, 1996--SPYGLASS Inc. (NASDAQ: SPYG)  announced
today that PLATINUM technologies inc. (NASDAQ; PLAT) of Oakbrook Terrace,
Ill. signed an agreement to license Spyglass' newly announced Web
Technology Kits for both the client and server for inclusion in PLATINUM's
product solutions targeted for the corporate enterprise. 

PLATINUM is a leader in enterprise solutions for application development,
business intelligence, database administration, data warehousing and
systems management software solutions. PLATINUM is one of the fastest

$95 million in 1994 to $304 million in 1995. 

Terms of the agreement were not announced, but typically Spyglass receives
royalties from customers based on the deployment of Spyglass' technology
in the customer's products, services or devices.

the next several quarters."
