Solomon Software Sweeps 1996 VARBusiness Awards For Windows Accounting
Software

VARs Rank Solomon IV #1 - Gives Solomon Top Scores In Seven Of Eight Key
Categories; VARBusiness Claims "Solomon Rules Windows"

FINDLAY, OHIO (May 15, 1996) -- Solomon Software today announced that its
Solomon IV for Windows accounting software has won the prestigious 1996
Product Report for Windows accounting software from VARBusiness Magazine.
Solomon IV earned top scores in seven of the eight criteria in the
VARBusiness survey.

Solomon IV swept the categories with #1 ratings in:

 Data Integrity/Stability
 Ease Of Use
 Vendor Tech Support
 Quality of Documentation
 Report Writing
 Feature Set Within Modules
 Multi-Currency/Multi-Lingual

Solomon IV ranked second in the final category, Ease Of Customization.

"We are honored by winning this award so decisively and want to thank
VARBusiness for conducting the survey," said Gary Harpst, president of
Solomon Software. "We also want to thank all our business partners who are
making Solomon IV the runaway success that it is. Winning first place in
seven of eight categories the VAR Business survey shows that Solomon IV is
the clear leader in delivering the key criteria most important to VARs."

"Winning this award in combination with PC Magazine Editor's Choice, and
the Visual Basic Programmer's Journal Reader's Choice award, is
confirmation that Solomon IV is recognized by developers, VARs and end
users as the leading Windows and SQL-based financial product targeted to
the middle market."

"This is further confirmation of our strategy to make Solomon IV the most
flexible and adaptable product by building it with industry standard
components like Visual Basic, FRx Financial Reports, Crystal Reports, R&R
SQL Report Writer, Microsoft SQL Server and BTI Scalable SQL. VARs,
developers and end users are concluding that they need to evaluate not
only the accounting features but the architecture behind the product. They
are clearly deciding they don't want to take the tremendous risks
associated with proprietary, non-standard technologies," said Harpst.

The VARBusiness Product Report, featured in the May 15, 1996 issue of
VARBusiness Magazine, was conducted as a telemarketing survey of 124 VARs.
VARs rated the importance of eight product features, and their
satisfaction with their vendors' products. Research results are at a 94%
confidence level.

According to the VARBusiness Product Report, the survey was their
"first-ever Product Report on LAN-based accounting software for Windows,
surveying VARs on the product features they consider most important and
how well the vendors implement them." Seven first-place finishes won it
for Solomon IV for Windows.

Solomon IV is the only Windows accounting software to have received awards
from the VAR, CPA, Professional Computing and ISV/Developer communities,
confirming its market acceptance and product leadership from experts and
users. In addition to winning the 1996 VARBusiness Product Report for
Windows Accounting, Solomon IV also claims the 1995 PC Magazine Editors'
Choice for Windows Accounting, the 1995 Visual Basic Programmer's Journal
Reader's Choice Award, the 1995 CPA Technology Advisor Award For High End
Accounting, and to many other recent awards and recognition for its
leading Windows accounting solutions for middle-market businesses.
