SHIVA LAUNCHES NEW UNIFIED GLOBAL PRODUCT BRANDING

Announcing rebranding of SpiderIntegrator Atto, Atto PLUS and Mezza ISDN
LAN-to-LAN Systems as part of One Look One Shiva programme

Shiva Corporation (NASDAQ: SHVA) today announced its new unified global
branding programme for Shiva's award-winning ISDN LAN-to-LAN systems. The
programme consolidates the integration of the Spider and Shiva product
lines and is yet another deliverable from Shiva's Enterprise ISDN
initiative and corporate integration programme.

Since the acquisition of Spider last summer, Shiva has been working to
integrate the two companies together to create a worldwide market leader
in global remote access solutions. In April this year, Shiva announced
historical financial results for the first quarter of 1996. Revenues for
the quarter were $42.5 million, 65% greater than revenues of $25.7 million
in the same quarter of the prior year. Shiva also announced a two-for-one
stock split effective on April 22, 1996 to improve the Company's trading
liquidity and broaden ownership of the Company's stock.

The first announcement from the One Look, One Shiva programme is the
re-branding of the SpiderIntegrator Atto, Atto PLUS and Mezza ISDN
LAN-to-LAN systems.

Phil Crocker, International marketing director at Shiva EMEA explains the
concept of Shiva's re-branding initiative, "What we're witnessing in the
Remote Access phenomenon is an increasing trend towards companies looking
to deploy Remote Access solutions on a mass scale. What's more, this is
happening on a global basis. This initiative provides the global branding
that enables our customers to deploy Remote Access on a global scale.
Shiva's commitment to this globalisation effort is further reflected by
the number of our channel partners that operate on a global scale.
Supporting this channel, is, of course, Shiva Network Services Division
which can provide the additional skill set and consultancy as required."

THE RE-BRANDED SHIVAINTEGRATOR RANGE

From June 1996, Shiva's range of ISDN LAN-to-LAN systems makes the branding
transition in EMEA from SpiderIntegrator to ShivaIntegrator. To date the
Integrator range has been marketed in North America and in EMEA under
different model names. Customers will continue to be able to configure the
ShivaIntegrator product for its intended operational country site, and if
the country site changes then all that will be required is a simple
re-configuration.

The following table summarises this re-branding initiative:

Former Product Name New Product Name

 SpiderIntegrator Atto ShivaIntegrator 150
 SpiderIntegrator Atto PLUS ShivaIntegrator 200
 SpiderIntegrator Mezza ShivaIntegrator 500

their central site concentrator requirements.

UPGRADE PATH SECURED

With the re-branding programme, customers can be secure in the knowledge
that units bought prior to unified branding will be fully upgradeable to
future releases and will be fully interoperable with the new branded
product line.

Karin Nielsen, Product Marketing Manager for ShivaIntegrator explains, "It
is recognised that future-proofing is very important in the corporate
networking arena, and we at Shiva value the investment our customers have
made in the products they purchase. The re-branding initiative strengthens
Shiva's Integrator product line bringing a truly global solution for the
corporate network, whether it is connecting small offices together,
connecting branch offices to a central site or providing Internet and
Intranet solutions."

portfolio. This includes future product innovations, as well as further
completing the integration process.

Shiva's product offerings include ISDN LAN-to-LAN Systems
