PYROTECHNIX AND SONY INTERACTIVE STUDIOS SIGN DEVELOPMENT AND LICENSING
AGREEMENTS

Dallas, TX (May 9, 1996) -- PyroTechnix, a subsidiary of 7th Level, Inc.
(NASDAQ:SEVL), and a leader in 3D technology and game development, today
announced an agreement to develop real-time 3D Windows 95 and PlayStation
games to be published by Sony Interactive Studios. In a separate
agreement, Sony will license Pyrotechnix' proprietary True3D game
development API technologies for in-house development of PC games.

"We're anxious to merge Sony's world-class reputation with our proprietary
gaming technology," said PyroTechnix President, Sinjin Bain, in reference
to the licensing deal. "The combination of Sony's success with the
PlayStation and our real-time 3D technology will help position them as a
major contender in the PC arena."

Sony Interactive's Executive Producer, John Smedley said, "PyroTechnix may
well have the most comprehensive support for critical game development
requirements of any 3D system currently available for Pentium-based PC's.
Together we have a very real opportunity to raise the bar in producing
cutting-edge games."

PyroTechnix was acquired by 7th Level in February 1996, and the development
agreement with Sony Interactive marks its entrance into the PlayStation
game market.

"We fully support PyroTechnix and Sony working together to develop new game
titles," said 7th Level President, George Grayson, "and we're looking
forward to exploring future opportunities for our companies to work
together on strategic projects and initiatives."

The first of several Sony titles being developed under the licensing
agreement is a futuristic, first person on-line action title and is
scheduled for release later this year.
