7TH LEVEL LAUNCHES KIDS' WORLD

TopGun Plug-in Brings Internet to Life

Dallas, TX(May 15, 1996) -- 7th Level, Inc. (NASDAQ: SEVL) has combined its
proprietary TopGun technology with rich animation and educational content
to introduce Kids' World, its first step in building a network of
interactive multimedia programming on the World Wide Web. The site, at
www.kidsworld.com, is 7th Level's prototype for an Internet-based
educational cartoon network.

Kids' World, which will feature 7th Level's animated characters Lil' Howie,
Virgil Reality and others, debuts Thursday at the Electronic Entertainment
Expo (E3) in Los Angeles in beta format, with plans for a formal network
launch at COMDEX in November.

Kids' World is designed as a fun and educational place for children and
features games, puzzles, riddles, experiments and activities for kids ages
6 to 12. Curriculum-focused sections include puzzles and brain teasers for
language, reading and math, and experiments for science using common
household items. All of the activities can be printed. Content will be
updated regularly to offer fresh, challenging puzzles with more
interactivity as the site matures.

"We're at the beginning of what will become the 7th Level educational
cartoon network," said 7th Level Chairman and CEO George Grayson. "The
beta site currently has four TopGun-enabled games, and we're continuing to
build content that will allow us to implement a full menu of interactive
programming."

Four favorite children's games are included in the Kids' World beta
version, so kids can enjoy hours of fun with Tic-Tac-Toe, Concentration,
Slider Puzzles and BeeBop. Successful completion of the games prompts
positive feedback and encouragement from Lil' Howie.

Children can send electronic greeting cards with customized messages to
friends and family using the Kids' World templates. A chat area allows
kids to post questions to Lil' Howie and Virgil Reality, or even chat with
other kids. The chat room, designed in a newsgroup format, will be
moderated by 7th Level to ensure a safe forum for children.

The site can be accessed using the Netscape Browser 2.0 and later or
Microsoft's Internet Explorer 3.0 (currently in alpha). In addition, users
can launch the site without external links, thereby providing a safe place
for kids to experience the Internet without the worry of exploration into
more questionable sites.

"Kids' World will be a breakthrough experience on the Internet," said
Grayson, "but like any network, a full programming menu will take time to
develop. Our goal is to create the feel of interactive TV. We will have a
character-rich environment with hosts and lead characters for a variety of
educational and fun programming."

Grayson explained that future plans for the network will showcase the
capabilities of 7th Level's TopGun authoring technology by combining
software and a data cache on the user's computer with a link to the
Internet. Data and code will be streamed from an Internet server, enabling
both interactive and linear programming. Kids' World will also be
accessible without the TopGun plug-in featuring several HTML-based games
and activities.

In time, Kids' World will include multiple and simultaneous foreign
languages support, educational profiling for parents and teachers to
evaluate a child's progress, and more.
