SERVERS

Leveraging High Volume, Intel Based UNIX Systems with Industry Leading
Internet Technologies to Bring Commercial Benefits to Business

SANTA CRUZ, CA (April 29, 1996) -- Enabling companies to quickly and easily
integrate the Internet into their Business Critical Environments, SCO
(NASDAQ: SCOC) today unveiled its SCO Internet Family, featuring the SCO
Internet FastStart, a fully integrated, low-cost, easy-to-configure,
general purpose Internet/Intranet server. Also included in the new
Internet Family is a comprehensive set of layered products, including
specialty Web servers, gateways, Web browsers and security products for
both SCO OpenServer Release 5 and SCO UnixWare 2.1 operating systems. SCO
will show the products this week at Spring Internet World '96 in San Jose,
California.

"Our mission is to enable our customers to take advantage of the power of
the Internet," said Jeff Ait, SCO's vice president, Internet. "SCO's
comprehensive Internet Family will allow our channel partners to provide
robust and reliable Internet and Intranet solutions to businesses world
wide without compromising brand name recognition, ease of use, price or
performance."

Comprehensive Internet/Intranet Solutions

The SCO Internet Family is ideal for:

* Accessing and Publishing Information on the Internet -- Easily access and
publish product, sales, and customer service information on the Internet
and World Wide Web.

* Sharing Internal Information via Intranets -- Create Intranets for
collaborative computing and information sharing between departments and
remote locations.

* Conducting Electronic Commerce on the Internet -- Conduct secure
business-to-business and business-to-consumer transactions over the
Internet's global network.

* Easily Connecting NetWare LANs to the Internet -- Enable NetWare LAN
users to access the Internet without having to reconfigure their NetWare
environments.

* Internet Enable Existing Business Applications -- Allows businesses to

The SCO Internet FastStart

The SCO Internet FastStart is a one-stop Internet/Intranet solution,
featuring a single-user version of SCO OpenServer Release 5, Enterprise
System, Netscape Communications Server, Netscape Navigator 2.0, Morning
Star Multi-line PPP, Multi-homing and an easy-to-use HTML based
configuration tool. In addition, FastStart also includes SCO Doctor Lite
for system monitoring and management, SCO ARCserve/Open Lite with
graphical user interface for easy backup, and SCO Advanced File and Print
Server, providing file and print services for Windows desktops.

Flexible Options

The SCO Internet Family layered products are available to support current
users of SCO OpenServer Release 5 and SCO UnixWare 2.1 as well as extend
the functionality of the SCO Internet FastStart. These include Netscape
Communications Server (standard in Internet FastStart), Netscape Commerce
Server, Netscape Proxy Server, Oracle WebServer 2.0, SCO Internet Security
Package, SCO PPP from Morning Star (standard in Internet FastStart), SCO
Internet to NetWare Gateway, and Netscape Navigator 2.0.

Cost of Ownership and Freedom of Choice

The SCO Internet Family leverages the economics of high volume Intel
processor-based systems. Users can now realize the reliability and
scalability of SCO UNIX systems and today's powerful Intel processor-based
Internet servers without incurring the high cost of ownership of
proprietary hardware-based Internet systems, requiring high-priced
components and expensive software. The combination of SCO UNIX systems and
Intel Pentium based platforms provide the best price performance in the
market today. These powerful systems, available from every major system
vendor, provide the widest set of options, at the most competitive prices,
giving businesses the freedom to choose the right solution at the right
price.

"With SCO's new Internet FastStart product, users now have a UNIX solution
that delivers greater performance and value than other UNIX alternatives,"
said Mike Pope, Intel's Director of Enterprise ISV programs. "Coupled with
the scalability and performance of Pentium Pro processor-based servers,
the SCO Internet Family sets a new standard for UNIX based Internet server
solutions."

Channel Infrastructure

To provide its customers with the Internet expertise they need to remain
competitive, SCO will focus on its more than 12,000 world wide resellers
and incorporate new levels of authorization, training and certification
into its reseller and technical education programs. Open to all SCO
resellers, the Internet reseller authorization program will enable
customers to identify SCO Internet resellers and allow the reseller to
differentiate themselves from their competition. The certification program
will provide administrators and sytem engineers with extensive Internet,
Intranet, and Web skills. Candidates who complete the program will receive
the certification of "SCO Internet Engineer."

The basic SCO Internet FastStart package, which includes SCO OpenServer
Release 5, sells for $995. The Netscape Commerce Server, SCO Internet to
Netware Gateway, SCO Internet Security Package and Netscape Proxy Server
