GUNSHIP LETS PLAYERS EXPERIENCE ACTUAL U.S. ARMY ATTACK HELICOPTERS AND
TACTICS

SIMULATION SOFTWARE FOR THE PLAYSTATION GAME CONSOLE CURRENTLY IN
DEVELOPMENT

ELECTRONIC ENTERTAINMENT EXPO, LOS ANGELES, MAY 16, 1996 -- Spectrum
HoloByte, Inc. (Nasdaq: SBYT) announces that it plans to release its
top-selling PC title, Gunship, for the PlayStation game console. This
title is currently in development by the MicroProse studio located in
Chipping Sodbury, England and will be released worldwide under the
MicroProse brand.

Gunship is a helicopter simulation for the PlayStation based on actual U.S.
army attack helicopters and tactics. A realistic aerial combat game,
Gunship allows the user to fly a selection of the worlds most advanced and
deadly military helicopters including the Apache and Commanche.

Gunship is a classic MicroProse helicopter simulation game that will look
even better with new PlayStation graphics. Gunship for the Sony
PlayStation game console is a 3-D multi-helicopter game that allows the
user the option of either detailed campaign play or instant arcade style
action.

The campaign mode will offer a depth of gameplay and level of realism that
will suit seasoned flight simulation enthusiasts. The arcade mode will
offer an exciting action packed shoot-em-up simulation-authenticity for
the part-time flight enthusiast.

The campaign progression has two theaters of operation: the Persian Gulf
and Central Europe. The combat scenarios offer the player locations
ranging from the mountains and deserts of Northern and Southern Iraq, to
the plains and cities of Central Europe.

In the Persian Gulf, the player must hold back the combined forces of Iran
and Iraq as they surge into Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. The Central Europe
campaign pits the gamer against the might of the Soviet Union, teetering
on the edge of social and political chaos, as its forces advance through
liberated Poland into Germany.

Gunship for the Sony Playstation game console has undergone a complete
graphical and audio overhaul, resulting in a game that looks, sounds and
feels different from its predecessors.

The 3-D graphics have undergone a radical face-lift with the use of
textured, light-sourced and depth-cued objects and terrain. This method
creates a smooth scrolling landscape with dramatic geographical features
and realistic colors and textures. Bitmapped skies offer changeable
weather conditions and stunning sunsets. Even the cockpit has been
redesigned to give an impression of greater depth.
