SPECTRUM HOLOBYTE, INC. ANNOUNCES A HOT PRODUCT LINE UP FOR E3

ALAMEDA, CA, MARCH 28, 1996 -- Spectrum HoloByte, Inc. (Nasdaq: SBYT)
announced today their exciting product line up for the Electronic
Entertainment Expo to take place May 16-18, 1996 at the Los Angeles
Convention Center. The Spectrum HoloByte booth will be located in the
South Hall, Booth #12011.

Spectrum HoloByte, Inc. will showcase the following titles. The Spectrum
HoloByte Studio will feature Star Trek Generations (Windows 95 and
PlayStation), Grand Prix II (PC DOS), Vette: San Francisco Thrills
(Windows 95 and PlayStation), Falcon 4.0 (Windows 95) and Top Gun: Fire at
Will!(PlayStation). The MicroProse Studio will feature Magic: The
Gathering (Windows 95), Sid Meiers Civilization II (Windows 3.1), Master
of Orion II: Battle at Antares (PC DOS), X-COM: Apocalypse (PC DOS),
Agents of Justice (Windows 3.1), European Air War (PC DOS), Gunship
(PlayStation) and X-COM: Terror From the Deep.

STAR TREK GENERATIONS

Based on the internationally successful feature film, STAR TREK
GENERATIONS, and licensed by Viacom Consumer Products, this Windows 95
game will be a mix of first-person action sequences, challenging
ship-to-ship encounters, strategy plotting missions in Stellar Cartography
and cinematic sequences. The story line of the game will be closely tied
to the action segments of the STAR TREK GENERATIONS film, in which
Captains Kirk and Picard join forces to defeat the evil Soran. The game is
also in development for the Sony PlayStation.

GRAND PRIX II

Licensed by FIA Formula One, Grand Prix II will put players in the hot seat
as they practice, challenge for the pole and go head-to- head with actual
drivers on tracks in Monaco, Brazil, France and beyond. Grand Prix II
provides the ultimate in realism, with every aspect of the Formula One
circuit re-created with incredible accuracy and detail. In addition to the
actual courses that make up the Grand Prix circuit, the game includes full
pitching and rolling, spectacular crashes, engine blowups and
richly-detailed 3-D effects. The game is in development for the PC in DOS
format.

VETTESAN FRANCISCO THRILLS

Vette San Francisco Thrills will bring high-powered, city street racing to
players as they zip through the streets of San Francisco and experience
all the hazards of metropolitan driving. Drivers will choose one of
several different Chevrolet Corvette automobiles, each with its own
performance characteristics which will affect driving ability. Opponents
will be driving some of the fastest and most exotic cars in the world.
Beat them in this 3-D real-time environment and you win! The game is in
development for Windows 95 and the Sony PlayStation.

FALCON 4.0

This Windows 95 game is the fourth generation in Spectrum HoloByte's award-
winning Falcon family of flight simulation products, which has sold more
than one million copies to date. Falcon 4.0 will provide three significant
enhancements: more realism (including detailed models for the latest F-16
avionics, weapons, threats and artificial intelligence), superb 3-D
texture-mapped graphics, and a complex air/land/sea battle running in the
background that allows players to choose their own missions based on the
context of the ongoing battle. This highly anticipated game will support
network play.

TOP GUN: FIRE AT WILL!

The heart-pounding thrill of action adventure flying awaits players as they
take the controls in Top Gun: Fire at Will!. Licensed through Viacom
Consumer Products, Top Gun: Fire at Will! is one of the first titles for
the Sony PlayStation to feature full-motion video for a more realistic
gaming experience. In Top Gun: Fire at Will!, players assume the role of
Maverick, starting off at Top Gun flight school, then dogfight their way
around the world in an epic adventure in which the player must defeat the
enemy. The game features actor James Tolkan, who appeared as the
commanding officer in the TOP GUN film and who plays a similar role in the
game. This game is also available for the PC in DOS format.

MAGIC: THE GATHERING

Anative Windows 95 title, Magic: The Gathering is based on Wizards of the
Coast, Inc.'s popular trading card game of the same name, which has sold
more than one billion cards worldwide in six languages. Sid Meier,
award-winning creator of the classic Sid Meiers Civilization, is designing
this adventure game based on the original card game.

SID MEIERS CIVILIZATION II

Sid Meiers Civilization II is a sequel to the mega-hit, award-winning
classic Sid Meiers Civilization, which has sold more than 850,000 copies
worldwide on various platforms. The game thrusts players into an active
role in historys greatest events. Full-motion video brings to life 28
Wonders of the World, including Leonardo da Vincis Workshop, the Statue of
Liberty and many more. More difficult and addicting than the original, Sid
Meiers Civilization II is now available for Windows 3.1 and is compatible
with Windows 95.

MASTER OF ORION II: BATTLE AT ANTARES

Master of Orion II is the sequel to the game that Computer Gaming World
named Strategy Game of the Year for 1993. This space conquest game
challenges players with more technology, new high-resolution graphics,
more alien races and multiplayer features such as LAN, modem and hot-seat

X-COM: APOCALYPSE

The third adventure in the top-selling series, X-COM: Apocalypse follows
the critically acclaimed X-COM: UFO Defense and X-COM: Terror from the
Deep. Players explore the enclosed city, uncover the new alien threat and
battle to save the human race. Players choose either turn-based or
real-time combat. The game is in development for the PC in DOS format.

AGENTS OF JUSTICE

From the designers of the award-winning Master of Orion and Master of
Magic, Agents of Justice empowers players to lead their team of agents
through various missions against evil forces. A Windows 3.1 game, Agents
of Justice features multiplayer competition via LAN or modem.

EUROPEAN AIR WAR

Building on the engine from the award-winning 1942 The Pacific Air War,
European Air War throws players into the struggle for air superiority
during the Battle of Britain and the invasion of Europe from 1943 to 1945.
This highly-anticipated flight sim not only provides thrilling local area
network (LAN) and modem play, but also improves on frame rate, graphics
and artificial intelligence. The game is in development for the PC in DOS
format.

GUNSHIP

Gunship 2000 is the only helicopter simulation for the Sony PlayStation
based on actual U.S. army attack helicopters and tactics. The campaign
mode from the original best-selling PC version, plus the new arcade mode,
