New Internet and Media Package Options Provide Complete Solutions

(ROUND ROCK, Texas) April 29, 1996 - Power Computing Corporation, the first

Mac OS licensee, today announced several value-priced software and
hardware options available with selected systems and configurations. These
package options, including Internet access, multimedia software and CPU
upgrades, accentuate the company's commitment to providing users with more
choice.

POWER COMPUTING'S INTERNET PACKAGE

This comprehensive Internet package contains Global Village Teleport
Platinum 28.8 fax modem and the Apple Internet Connection Kit, which
includes popular software necessary to make personal computers
Internet-ready. For customers who purchase the Internet Package with their
system, the Global Village software will come pre-installed on the hard
drive along with the entire suite of software included in the Apple
Internet Connection Kit.

The Apple Internet Connection Kit includes Netscape Navigator, the Internet
browser for exploring the World Wide Web; Claris Emailer Lite, email
software for sending and receiving Internet messages; NewsWatcher, a
newsgroup reader that lets you access USENET newsgroup discussions; Fetch,
software for transferring, downloading, and decoding files from many FTP
(file transfer protocol) servers available on the Internet; Aladdin
Stuffit Expander, software for automatically decompressing downloaded
files; NCSA Telnet applications to communicate with the SLIP/PPP protocols
used by the Internet. Also included is the Apple Internet Dialer
application which helps users sign up with qualified Internet service
providers within minutes. The Internet Package will be available
immediately for $195 with the purchase of a PowerCenter or PowerTower
system.

POWER COMPUTING'S MEDIA PUBLISHING PACKAGE

The Media Publishing Package contains popular software titles from

Power Computing now offers performance-boosting video hardware with the
purchase of selected systems. The award-winning PCI graphics accelerator
from IMS the TwinTurbo 128M is a graphics card that ships with 4 MB of
VRAM allowing for a maximum resolution of 1920x1080 and a maximum refresh
rate of up to 100Hz. TwinTurbo includes features such as real time video
playback acceleration with scaling hardware and pan and zoom capabilities.
This product significantly increases the speed of PowerCenter and
PowerTower on-board video. Awarded four diamonds in MacWEEK and four Mice
in MacUser magazines, this graphics accelerator is ideal for users of
Photoshop, Microsoft Word, and Quark Xpress. The TwinTurbo 128M is now
shipping for $545 with the purchase of PowerCenter or PowerTower systems.

MICROSOFT OFFICE 4.2.1

As announced in January of this year, Power Computing will begin shipping
the Microsoft Office version 4.2.1 for the Macintosh with selected
configurations of PowerTower and PowerCenter systems. Microsoft Office
includes three best-selling business productivity tools: Microsoft Word,
the world's leading word processing program; Microsoft Excel, a popular
spreadsheet application; and Microsoft PowerPoint, a presentation graphics
software application. Power Computing now has selected configurations
available that can be purchased with Microsoft Office 4.2.1 installed on

CPU UPGRADE CARDS FOR POWERWAVE AND POWERCURVE CUSTOMERS

Power Computing is now offering CPU upgrade cards for existing PowerWave
and PowerCurve customers. These user installable processor cards are
designed with the PowerPC 604 processor at 120 MHz, 132 MHz and 150 MHz.
Customers can simply call Power Computing and provide their serial number
to purchase the processor upgrade card. The PowerCurve 604/120 upgrade
card is available immediately for $295. PowerCurve 601/120 customers will
see an average 25 percent speed improvement with the 604/120 card. The
604/132 and 604/150 upgrade cards will be available for PowerCurve
customers beginning July 1, 1996. The PowerWave 604/132 and 604/150
upgrade cards are available immediately for $495 and $695 respectively.

OTHER NEW OPTIONS

Continuing their commitment to offering personalized Mac-compatibles, Power
Computing will also be offering high-performance 8x CD-ROM drives and
software and hardware RAID solutions. Prices will be announced April 29,
1996.
