Play Announces Strategic Relationship with Pinnacle Systems

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, APRIL 15TH, 1996 - PLAY INCORPORATED today unveiled a
strategic relationship with Pinnacle Systems (NASDAQ:PCLE) at the National
Association of Broadcasters convention. The two companies will work
together to bring Pinnacle's new Genie 3D digital video effects technology
to the Play Trinity digital video production platform.

Mark Sanders, Pinnacle president and CEO, said "We're delighted to be
working with a team that's as experienced and enthusiastic as the people
at Play. We believe our combined efforts can expand the potential of the
Trinity system by integrating our technology into what is already a
powerful real-time solution."

"Pinnacle's Genie technology, which builds on the success of its Alladin,
creates a new standard in 3D digital video editing. Direct real-time,
interactive control over effect parameters, as well as high-quality
filtering, have always been hallmarks of Pinnacle's technology," explained
Mike Moore, Play Chairman and CTO, "When this technology is integrated
into the Trinity real-time environment, these capabilities can be combined
with Trinity's other video and audio processing hardware to give customers
a unique and powerful system."

Trinity is a Windows-PC based digital video production system which
provides tools previously only found in broadcast television studios,
including video switching, chroma-keying, real-time video effects,
uncompressed D1 non-linear editing, character generation, painting,
animation, compositing, as well as digital audio mixing in one integrated
product.

Ajay Chopra, Pinnacle chairman and chief technology officer said "Play's
holistic approach to digital video production on a PC is a very exciting
one. We're enthusiastic about the combination of our two technologies, and
the powerful tools that will result for media producers."

Paul Montgomery, Play President, added "Pinnacle provides the best-selling
real-time digital video effects solution on the market today, with
Alladin. The newly announced Genie technology underlines Pinnacle's lead
in creating state-of-the-art effects systems. When you merge these
capabilities with Trinity's unique architecture, you have what I believe
is an unbeatable combination."
