PC DOCS Plans Support for Microsoft BackOffice 2.0

TORONTO, Canada - April 30, 1996 - PC DOCS, Inc., a leader in enterprise
document management solutions, and a subsidiary of PC DOCS Group
International Inc. (NASDAQ: DOCSF, TSE: DXX) today announced plans to
support Microsoft BackOffice 2.0, which is being launched at Internet
World the end of April.

PC DOCS has taken advantage of Microsoft BackOffice technology in several
key product areas in DOCS Open Release 3.0, which is expected to ship in
the second quarter of this year. "Microsoft BackOffice 2.0 has allowed us
to easily add features and functionality to our new release, DOCS Open
3.0, that were not available on other platforms. This translates to a
robust product and faster time to market," stated Ann Palermo, vice
president of worldwide marketing at PC DOCS, Inc. "With market demand
creating ever-shorter product cycles, the integration and
Internet-readiness of Microsoft BackOffice 2.0 fit the bill for developers
like us."

Because Microsoft BackOffice offers a stable platform on which to build
Internet and Intranet functionality, PC DOCS will utilize this platform
for the first of their three-pronged Internet product offerings, codenamed
`Mercury.' Mercury is designed for widespread access, searching and
publishing on the Internet utilizing browsers like Microsoft Internet
Explorer and Netscape Navigator and HTML and Acrobat publishing tools.

Another Microsoft-based product included in Release 3.0 is DOCS Interchange
for Microsoft Exchange, a publishing tool through which DOCS Open
documents and document profile metadata can be distributed to Microsoft
Exchange public folders. Also introduced with Release 3.0 is the Document
Sentry Agent (DSA), a 32-bit, Windows NT-based server module designed for
security-intensive environments, such as intelligence agencies and highly
regulated industries. The DSA adds an additional level of auditing and
security to DOCS Open and creates a firewall between users and documents,
and provides a secure audit trail.

"Many of our customers have found Microsoft BackOffice to be a robust and
scalable platform for business critical applications like DOCS open,"
stated Larry Bohn, executive vice president and general manager at PC
DOCS, Inc. "We expect that Microsoft BackOffice 2.0 will quickly gain wide
industry acceptance."

"DOCS Open from PC DOCS, Inc. is proof positive that Microsoft BackOffice
is proven technology, and that it is an attractive platform on which to
develop," stated Rich Tong, general manager, desktop and business systems
division at Microsoft Corp. "Vendors like PC DOCS are developing products
that companies build their businesses around, and they are using Microsoft
BackOffice for much of this development."
