New ProCite Internet Enabler Provides Tools to Organize World Wide Web
Information

Personal Bibliographic Software (PBS) has announced a solution to the
problem of how to manage widely dispersed information on the Internet. The
Internet Enabler bundle combines NetCite, an enhancement to ProCite, with
BookWhere? Pro an Internet search and retrieval product for Z39.50 library
collections.

NETCITE allows [users of] ProCite to catalog and index Internet
information. NetCite lets users add World Wide Web based information
references to the wide array of information records they currently manage
with ProCite.

Working in conjunction with Netscape Communications, Inc's Netscape
Navigator, NetCite is a powerful tool for storing web page references in a
ProCite database.

BOOKWHERE? - PRO searches libraries across the Internet for research
materials and books. Once records have been selected, BookWhere? downloads
the records and automatically saves the data, including MARC records, to a
ProCite database. BookWhere? has pre-configured access to several hundred
library collections including the Library of Congress, Acadia University,
Pennsylvania State Library, Stanford University Library, and the
University of California - Melvyl System Library.

BookWhere?, performs simultaneous searches on multiple databases based on a
wide variety of parameters, including author, title, subject, catalog
numbers, and classification codes. BookWhere? 2.0 can be configured as a
Web-browser application, allowing Netscape or Mosaic users to access both
traditional catalogs as well as multimedia references in a simple and
transparent fashion.

The Internet Enabler is used to:

Provide access to Z39.50 compatible library catalogs.

   Search multiple online databases simultaneously.

Retrieve records from the Library of Congress, Penn State Library,
   and hundreds of others.

Automatically capture URL and title information from a web page and
store this web page reference in a ProCite record.

Annotate web page references with additional information including,
comments, keyword identifiers, and other text.

Sort, search, edit, and categorize URL records using ProCites
   powerful database management capabilities.

Launch Netscape and open a URL found in a ProCite record.

Output ProCite database records in Hyper Text Markup Language
(HTML) format which allows bibliographies to be published on
   the World Wide Web.

Cut research time from days to minutes.

The introductory price for The Internet Enabler, offered to existing
ProCite customers, is $99.00.
