Opcode Delivers Vision for Windows--Music Software

PALO ALTO, CA * MAY 1, 1996 --Opcode Systems, Inc. today announced the much
anticipated release of its acclaimed Vision MIDI sequencing software for
the Windows platform. This addition to the Opcode product line provides a
complete integrated music system that includes Vision 2.5 MIDI sequencing
software, MIDI interface hardware, and the industry standard OMS (Open
Music System). OMS facilitates effortless interfacing to PC sound cards,
MIDI hardware and multitrack recorders.

"Opcode has been a pioneer in creating a world where anyone can create
music on their personal computer. We created the Macintosh MIDI software
and hardware relied upon most by professional musicians," said Chris
Halaby, Opcode's CEO. "Bringing Vision, and OMS to Windows completes the
system and gives all musicians, professionals or beginners, a choice of
platforms. Opcode plans to be in the Windows market for the long run."

VISION 2.5:

Vision delivers an extensive set of musical, intuitive tools. Familiar tape
recorder-like controls and user-configurable mixing consoles make music
creation quick and easy. Vision also gives users the ultimate in
flexibility, allowing them to choose between pattern or linear based
sequencing, or a combination of both--users can choose from among
recording tracks in real time, step-entry or even drum machine-style loop
recording.

Vision's Track Overview window displays individual track data with
detailed, colorful blocks, providing an elegant method of transforming
ideas and riffs into songs. Easily move or copy any phrase with a mouse
click; instantly open Vision's Notation or Piano Roll window for more
specific tweaking. All of the edits are performed in real time so the
music never has to stop.

OPEN MUSIC SYSTEM 2.0:

OMS, developed by Opcode, is the cross-platform standard for MIDI
management that helps define studio setups by providing a detailed
description of the user's MIDI studio. OMS can auto-detect instruments
connected to the computer. It can also test MIDI input and output, and
graphically display and edit your MIDI setup on-screen.

OPCODE MIDI TRANSLATOR PC:

The Opcode MIDI Translator PC allows MIDI instruments to communicate with
PC compatible computers. The new interface combines rock solid Opcode
performance with a unique modular architecture that allows an
unprecedented degree of expansion and flexibility. The exclusive "docking"
port of the MIDI Translator PC allows multiple units to be chained
together. A single MIDI Translator PC gives the user a 2 IN x 2 OUT,
32-channel MIDI interface that easily connects to the parallel port of a
PC. Quickly expand this to a 4 IN x 4 OUT, 64 -channel interface by simply
docking two units together.
