ACTIVISION DELIVERS MECHWARRIOR2 OPTIMIZED FOR NVIDIA

Activision and NVIDIA join forces to provide premiere accelerated content
for the PC.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. --- May 6, 1996 --- NVIDIA Corporation today announced
the Activision PC title MechWarrior 2 is now available for NVIDIA's line
of multimedia accelerators. This "Powered by NVIDIA" version of
MechWarrior 2 will contain special enhancements that will take advantage
of the concurrent hardware engines inside the NVIDIA NV1 multimedia
accelerator. This underscores both companies' commitment to deliver the
hottest titles for action gaming on PCs running the Microsoft Windows 95
operating system.

MechWarrior2 is a combat-simulation game that thrusts players into a
futuristic fantasy where they battle through many intricate levels of
landscapes, battling head-to-head with the evil clans. Based on the
BattleTech Universe, Activision's MechWarrior2 brings proprietary,
real-time 3D graphics, premium-quality sound design and 31st century
weaponry and warfare to your PC for the ultimate pulse-pounding gaming
experience. This 3D version of MechWarrior2 runs at high resolutions and
high color depths under Windows" 95, resulting in crisper, cleaner
graphics that bring the warrior and his legions of mechanically-altered
enemies to life as they assail players from 360 degrees.

In addition to MechWarrior2, Activision expects to deliver more titles to
the NVIDIA platform, the first of which is Hyperblade, due out in the
summer 1996. HyperBlade is the highly anticipated futuristic rollerblade
simulation game also being optimized for the NV1 powerful acceleration
architecture.

The NV1 is a fully-integrated solution which combines the key components of
multimedia in a single-chip architecture. Through this integration the NV1
offers real-time, fully-textured 3D graphics, 2D graphics acceleration,
advanced audio, full-motion video acceleration and a digital input
joystick engine. This single-chip technology has been designed to support,
enhance and concurrently accelerate standards such as Microsoft's DirectX`
application programming interfaces (APIs) including DirectDraw`,
DirectVideo`, DirectSound`, DirectInput` and Direct3D`. The result is an
immediate and across-the-board enhancement of Windows" 95 content. NV1
products from Diamond Multimedia Systems, Inc., Jazz Multimedia Inc.,
Leadtek Research Inc., and others will soon ship with a complete suite of
DirectX drivers.
