NETMANAGE RELEASES JETMAIL, A NEW POWERFUL STANDARDS-BASED CLIENT/SERVER
E-MAIL SOLUTION

Product offers global messaging with maximum efficiency at minimal cost for
small offices

SAN JOSE, CALIF. (INTERNET WORLD, BOOTH #719) - APRIL 29, 1996 - NetManage
(NASDAQ: NETM), the leading provider of standards-based IntraNet
solutions, today released JetMail, a new electronic messaging client and
server package for the Windows, Windows 95 and Windows NT platforms, based
on the Internet standard mail protocols. The JetMail Server is a complete
client/server messaging solution for small companies, businesses, and
remote offices that need both an internal messaging solution and global
connectivity. The product is secure, affordable, and easy-to-use and
administer. NetManage also announced the separate availability of the
JetMail Client, a premier IntraNet/Internet standards-based e-mail client
for use with any WinSock compliant transport.

The client and server are designed as native to the Internet's messaging
standard, SMTP (simple mail transfer protocol), offering companies global
messaging capabilities and compatibility with vendors, suppliers and
customers, as well as internal e-mail access for local, mobile, and remote
users among the company's team. The Jetmail solution includes many useful
features for inter-office use, such as pop-up urgent messaging, shared
address books and meeting schedules, that provides all the essential
communication tools for corporate IntraNets.

"In terms of cost of ownership, JetMail has no competition, setting a new
standard for the utilization of proven IntraNet based technology by the
small or home office," said Willie Tejada, vice president of product
marketing at NetManage. "You don't need UNIX or a dedicated expert
administrator. Rather, the JetMail Server is designed for a novice
administrator using Windows 95 or Windows NT. It provides all the
functionality of a proprietary messaging system like Lotus's cc:Mail at a
fraction of the price. And, because it is built on the native Internet
standards, it doesn't have the single-point-of-failure, high message
conversion overhead, and other administrative hassles associated with
gateways that proprietary systems need for Internet access."

KEY FEATURES

Included among JetMail's many dynamic features are:

 the ability to funnel multiple company e-mail addresses
 through a single Internet dial-up POP account;

 the ability to consolidate users' multiple external e-mail
 accounts to a single local account;

 scheduled dial-up services to multiple destinations for mail
 retrieval and sending;

 automatic mail routing and filing rules;

 the capacity for multiple attachments using the Internet MIME
 standard;

 mail routing lists, allowing a sender to schedule the sequence
 in which designated readers receive and forward a given message;

 integrated spell checker;

 multiple address books;

 MAPI compliance, allowing users to send e-mail directly from their
 word processor, spread sheet or other MAPI-enabled applications.

"Several of the JetMail Server's unique features make it clearly the best
e-mail solution for the small company/business markets," said Tejada. "It
is the only SMTP/POP3 mail server that runs on Windows 95, as well as on
Windows NT. Its unique ability to access dial-up POP accounts from an
Internet service provider (ISP) with scheduled dial-out services --
serving up to 50 separate user mail addresses through a single Internet
POP account -- means a company's total service bill for worldwide e-mail
should be about $20 a month, depending on its ISP's rates."

FAX SERVER FIRST IN SERIES OF ACCESSORIES

In addition to the e-mail server and client, NetManage is also releasing a
series of JetMail Accessories to add further functionality to the system.
The first accessory is already available, the JetMail Fax Server. The Fax
Server runs on Windows 3.1 and Windows 95, providing full fax services
seamlessly integrated into the JetMail e-mail client. Users can compose a
message in JetMail and send it with attachments (such as a Microsoft Word
file) to the Fax Server. The JetMail Fax Server then converts the message
(including all attachments) into a standard digital facsimile,
automatically transmitting it to the destination fax machine. Receiving
faxes is just as easy, with faxed text converted into e-mail messages or
saved as attachments for full graphic printing.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

The JetMail Server for Windows 95 and Windows NT includes the server
application, the JetMail client for Windows 3.1, Windows 95 and Windows NT
and a license for five client installations, plus office messaging
utilities such as Tag-It! (for urgent pop-up messages), PhoneTag (phone
messaging records), NEWTCal (scheduler) and JetMail Administration
controls. The price of the JetMail Server package is $495. The JetMail
client, plus all other JetMail utilities, can also be purchased in a
stand-alone package without the server for $55. Quantity discounts are
available. Both packages are available effective immediately. Free
evaluation copies of both packages are available directly from NetManage's
