Mustang Software Ships wcExchange; Option Seamlessly Links Wildcat! 5 Web
Server To Microsoft Exchange

Intranet Solution Allows Desktop Access, Response To Local and Internet
E-Mail, Messaging and Internet Newsgroups In Inbox Folders

Bakersfield, California -- April 30, 1996: Mustang Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:
MSTG) announced today the availability of wcExchange, a Wildcat! 5 system
option which allows seamless integration of Microsoft Exchange and the
Wildcat! 5 server. Mustang's wcExchange is a powerful addition to the
Wildcat! 5 family, allowing the delivery of any remote messaging from the
Wildcat! server, including internal e-mail, messaging, Internet e-mail, or
newsgroups to Exchange's Inbox folder, providing a single point for
retrieving and responding to all mail and messaging. wcExchange can also
deliver a variety of messaging to public folders, giving the product a
distinct advantage over other Intranet solutions; and since the versatile
Wildcat! 5 server can receive messages from virtually any message system,
companies using wcExchange have a dramatically larger audience that can
communicate directly with them. The wcExchange option for Wildcat! 5 is
priced at $499 and is available directly from Mustang Software, Inc.

"Many levels of management and business do not have the time, or simply do
not want to log on to a separate source to read and respond to Internet
e-mail and messages," stated Jim Harrer, President and CEO of Mustang
Software. "Wildcat! wcExchange solves this problem by connecting a user's
Exchange mailbox directly to Wildcat! 5 which in turn is connected to the
Internet. This makes dealing with external e-mail as simple as receiving
internal corporate mail."

"Linking Exchange to a Wildcat! Server also gives anyone with a computer
and modem the opportunity to communicate with the business using direct
dialup, without forcing the user to go through the Internet. This direct
access is a tremendous advantage for business, expanding its potential
audience", Harrer added.

Companies using wcExchange can also maintain public and private message
folders accessible directly from their Microsoft Exchange, with conference
selection controlled by Wildcat! 5's powerful access profiles. Wildcat! 5
allows system administrators to set individual security levels for each
user, defining areas a user can, and cannot access. And, unlike other
solutions, wcExchange delivers messages directly to the end user without
the need for that user to open another application to interpret the
message. Simple Internet Newsgroup delivery for employees is also
available on Wildcat! Servers equipped with the optional ICP (Internet
Connectivity Pack). Organizations can decide which newsgroups are
appropriate and make them available as public folders right in the user's
Microsoft Exchange.

"The access to public and private messaging through Exchange mailboxes
dramatically expands an employee's universe to interact with relevant
Internet message groups for informational needs," continued Harrer. "It
also allows quick employee response for a wide range of customer service,
sales support or marketing issues."

The Wildcat! 5 family of products offers businesses a wide range of
Internet and Intranet solutions with flexibility and power. As a Web
server, Wildcat! 5 gives businesses a fully interactive HTML Web presence
that allows customers and clients to visit the site and participate both
with the business and others visiting the site -- sending e-mail, creating
and responding to threaded messaging areas, engaging in real time
teleconferencing (chat), or uploading and downloading files. Users without
Web access also can dial directly into Wildcat! 5 using the freely
distributable Wildcat! Navigator, the optional store-front branded
Wildcat! Custom Connector, or with any existing communications program.

When Wildcat! 5 is used as an Intranet solution, companies have the ability
to extend full messaging, e-mail and teleconferencing to employees through
an internal network. Wildcat! 5 security features allow system managers
the ability to limit which areas each employee can access, perfect for
creating multiple divisional systems on one Wildcat! 5 platform. Wildcat!
5 allows password protected logons through the Internet or by direct dial
up connection, and provides solutions for a wide range of situations
including sales and marketing, customer support and employee
telecommuting.

Recently named the "Best New Internet Product" at FOSE '96 in Washington
DC, the breakthrough Wildcat! 5 can be seen at Spring Internet World '96
at the San Jose Convention Center from today through May 2 in Booth 347.
