Microsoft Bookshelf Internet Directory, 1996-97 Edition

Featuring Direct Links to Thousands of the Most Useful Internet Sites

Finding what you want on the Internet is simple with the MICROSOFT
BOOKSHELF INTERNET DIRECTORY, 1996-97 edition, a guide for business, home,
and student users who want a fast connection to the information in the
Internet's top sites.

Jointly developed by Microsoft Press and the Microsoft Bookshelf product
team, the MICROSOFT BOOKSHELF INTERNET DIRECTORY is a printed and online
directory of the most useful resources on the Internet. "Bookshelf
contains only brand-name, first-class reference books. In creating this
book, we worked to make sure it was the best of its kind," said Noah
Tratt, Program Manager in Microsoft's Consumer Products Division.

The Directory provides Internet users with information about thousands of
the best and most useful Web sites, FTP sites, newsgroups, and other
Internet resources. The 77 sections include Economics and Business, Food
and Recipes, Cartoons and Comics, Disabled and Handicapped Resources,
Religion, Science Fiction and Fantasy, Women's Resources, and Science. The
reviewed sites were selected for their broad appeal.

The Directory is designed to make browsing the Internet simple and fun.
Each entry includes a site address, a description of the site's targeted
audience, and a content description. The CD contains the Frequently Asked
Questions About the Internet, Alphabetical Listings of Internet Sites, and
Glossary sections of the book in fully searchable format and provides a
direct link to every site listed-with just a double click of the mouse for
users of Windows 95. The Directory will be updated annually, with new
information available both in hard copy format and via the Internet.
