LIVINGSTON, YAHOO! PARTNER TO MAKE INTERNET KID-SAFE; YAHOOLIGANS! IS FIRST
APPLICATION OF CHOICENET TECHNOLOGY

PLEASANTON, Calif., May 6, 1996 -- "Kid-safe" Internet access is the aim of
a new partnership between Livingston Enterprises and Yahoo! Inc. that will
allow children to access age-appropriate material but not to roam freely
among undesirable sites on the Internet.

Yahooligans!, introduced in mid-March by Yahoo! as a World Wide Web guided
service designed for children, will be distributed by Livingston's
ChoiceNet, a new server-based network filtering technology that offers
customized control over Internet access.

The Yahooligans!/ChoiceNet combination will enable schools and parents to
give youthful users entry to a world of kid-oriented Internet content in
various categories -- e.g., entertainment, sports, science, world
cultures, arts and crafts -- but not to use that entry as a gateway to
gain access to unsuitable material elsewhere on the Internet.

ChoiceNet is well suited for use with Yahooligans! because it allows
schools, corporations and parents to gain an unprecedented degree of
control over what their students, employees and children can access. This
control can be customized on a per-user basis, even down to different
allowable sites for different members of a family.

Bruce Byrd, Livingston director of marketing, said, "Yahooligans is an
ideal first application for the ChoiceNet technology. It will enable our
more than 1,500 ISP customers to offer Yahooligans! as a value-added
service simply by creating separate Yahooligans! accounts, rather than
setting up a separate -- and costly -- network infrastructure for this
service."

"ChoiceNet provides a great service to the Internet community, which faces
a challenge in directing parents and teachers to safe and appropriate
content for children," said Jeff Mallett, Yahoo!'s senior vice president
of business operations. "Distributing Yahooligans! provides a
comprehensive 'starting point' for kids. Since Yahooligans! covers a broad
range of topics -- some educational, some pure fun -- it provides a safe
haven for kids to explore."

ChoiceNet and Yahooligans! will be available beginning in June with
Livingston dial-in communications servers and internetwork routers.
