Lotus Announces Pricing for cc:Mail Release 6

Available in 30 Days With Enhanced 24x7 Post Office Integrated with Lotus
Forms and Lotus Organizer

ANAHEIM, Calif., April 29, 1996 -- Lotus Development Corp. today announced
that cc:Mail Release 6 will ship within 30 days at an estimated retail
price of $55, which lowers the average cost of purchasing a cc:Mail
network by 25 percent. Additionally, cc:Mail Release 6 provides greater
functionality including an enhanced database that features 24x7 operation
and the integration of Lotus Forms and Lotus Organizer. Lotus cc:Mail is
the world's leading LAN-based e-mail system with more than 10 million
users.

As part the Lotus Passport Program maintenance offering, more than three
million customers will receive cc:Mail Release 6 upgrades when it ships.
cc:Mail Release 6 ships with the upgraded 24x7 Post Office, DB8, that
features Time Invariant technology. This offers administrators and users
the benefits of 24x7 operation and robust scalability, capable of
supporting up to 1000 users per Post Office without compromising the high
performance, small footprint and easy installation that have won cc:Mail
many awards in the past.

"cc:Mail Release 6 features a mix of extended workgroup capabilities
including Organizer for calendaring and scheduling, and Forms, which
offers users a rich messaging environment that goes well beyond standard
e-mail," said Larry Jones, director of marketing, Lotus Development Corp.
"The new 24x7 Post Office provides the scalability, flexibility and
reliability that are needed to function in today's mission-critical mail
environments."

Additional capabilities include calendaring and scheduling functionality
with Lotus Organizer 2.1, the award winning personal information manager.
With Organizer, users can manage time and schedule meetings with other
cc:Mail users on the LAN.

Also integrated with cc:Mail Release 6 is Lotus Forms. Forms can be used to
improve workflow by allowing users to e-mail common paper forms such as,
expense reports, time cards, change of address requests, travel
itineraries and computer hardware/software requests, or build custom
forms, which can be done by using the Forms designer that is also
included. The Forms designer leverages LotusScript 3.0, Lotus' BASIC
compatible, object-oriented programming language. cc:Mail comes with five
pre-designed forms templates. Additional forms can be purchased from third
party developers.

cc:Mail Release 6 will be available in 30 days from Lotus Authorized

purchase or upgrade to cc:Mail Release 6 will receive free upgrades to
cc:Mail Release 7 when it is available later this year. cc:Mail Release 7
exploits the 24x7 Post Office by offering users additional new features
including rich text, hierarchical nested folders, message threading and
delegation. Customers can purchase upgrades for $18 (ERP) and on-going
maintenance for $10 (ERP) per user. The price of Lotus maintenance for
