LinkAge and ISOCOR Introduce X.400 and X.500 Product Integration

New Products Connect X.400 and X.500 to IBM SNADS and PROFS Environments

Companies Unify Leading Messaging and Directory Solutions on Windows NT

ANAHEIM, Calif.. April 29, 1996 -- LinkAge Software Inc., a leading
supplier of enterprise messaging connectivity solutions, and ISOCOR, a
leading provider of backbone software solutions for electronic information
exchange, today announced the availability of their integrated messaging
and directory synchronization products. LinkAge's new X.400/SNADS Gateway
connects to ISOCOR's ISOPLEX X.400 Message Transfer Agent (MTA) to provide
messaging connectivity between IBM host-based mail systems and X.400.
ISOCOR's ISOPLEX Directory Services (DS) product has been integrated with
LinkAge Directory Exchange (LDE) to provide directory synchronization
between X.500 and IBM, Microsoft and Lotus directories. These new products
are implemented on the Microsoft Windows NT platform. They provide LinkAge
and ISOCOR customers with unparalleled messaging and directory integration
capabilities. Together, LinkAge and ISOCOR offer MTAs, switches and
gateways that support all of the leading LAN, UNIX and Host messaging
systems. Bob Jull, LinkAge's president, commented: "By coupling ISOCOR's
MTAs and Directory Services with LinkAge Gateways and Directory Exchange
we are significantly extending the reach of both product lines. We are
adding Open Systems support by tightly integrating LDE and our Gateways
with ISOCOR's product line. This is important technology for our
customers. They now have the ability to incorporate X.400 messaging and
X.500 directories using off-the-shelf products and without loss of
investment in current LAN, UNIX, and host-based messaging systems."

"With the combination of ISOCOR's messaging and directory software and the
LinkAge gateways IBM users have the reliable, cost-effective products to
extend their PROFS and SNADS environments," said William Wolfe, Vice
President Marketing and Business Development. "The LinkAge relationship is
part of ISOCOR's continuing commitment to provide superior off-the-shelf
solutions through high-performance products and strong partnerships." Both
companies will be selling and distributing these products through their
respective channels. The products are being brought to market as part of a
broad development and distribution agreement signed by LinkAge and ISOCOR
last October.

Particulars

LinkAge's X.400/SNADS Gateway provides messaging connectivity between X.400
and SNADS-compliant messaging systems including IBM OfficeVision/MVS,
OfficeVision/400, Fischer TAO, Verimation Memo, Software AG Connect, and
NBS Systems TOSS. The X.400/SNADS Gateway is fully compliant with the 1988
X.400 standard. It supports the exchange of messages, host files,
documents and binary objects. The Gateway performs complete status mapping
to support Confirmation of Delivery and Read Receipt requests. The Gateway
communicates with an ISOCOR ISOPLEX MTA using ISOCOR's X/API stack.

In support of the Gateway, LinkAge Directory Exchange (LDE) has been
extended to provide automatic name and address mapping between X.400 and
SNADS environments. In addition, LDE provides complete directory
synchronization between leading SNADS directories and X.400. X.400 users
are automatically registered in IBM directories so users can select
recipients from their normal user interfaces.

ISOPLEX Directory Services (DS) for SNADS is an extension to ISOCOR's
ISOPLEX DS product line that integrates IBM directories with ISOCOR's
X.500 directory. ISOPLEX DS interoperates with LinkAge Directory Exchange
to synchronize X.500 directories with IBM OfficeVision and PROFS, Fischer
TAO, Verimation MEMO, as well as Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Mail, Lotus
Notes, Lotus cc:Mail, and Hewlett Packard OpenMail.

Availability

The LinkAge X.400/SNADS Gateway is currently in beta testing and will
become generally available on June 1, 1996.

Product Background

LinkAge's directory exchange and connectivity products provide corporations
with full and transparent integration of their LAN and UNIX workgroups
with mainframe and mid-range system environments. In addition, by
supporting the transmission and reception of compound messages (including
documents and spreadsheets), LinkAge solutions allow users to easily and
effectively share mission-critical information via E-mail.

Based on the Microsoft BackOffice family of server applications, LinkAge
Directory Exchange 3.0 carries the "Designed for Microsoft BackOffice"
logo. LDE consists of two types of software components: the Directory
Exchange Manager and a suite of Directory Exchange Agents, one for each
messaging system. The Directory Exchange Manager uses Microsoft SQL Server
and, if appropriate, SNA Server.

LDE 3.0 provides synchronization for a wide variety of directories,
including Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Mail, Lotus Notes, Lotus
cc:Mail, HP OpenMail, Fischer TAO, Verimation MEMO, and IBM OfficeVision
and PROFS.

The ISOCOR multi-platform product line includes message servers, directory
servers, desktop user agents and gateways. ISOCOR provides complete
solutions for complex messaging environments from the workgroup through
the enterprise backbone network. ISOCOR software is based on the
prevailing international messaging standards (X.400, X.500 and Internet
SMTP/MIME) and provides direct client/server support for upcoming "de
facto" standards such as Microsoft's MAPI.
