ISOCOR Sets Performance Benchmark

ISOCOR Sets Internet Messaging Performance Benchmark at EMA'96

Shows N-PLEX High-Performance Intranet/Internet Server Software and
Participates in EMA's '88 X.400 Challenge

ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA -- April 29, 1996-- ISOCOR (NASDQ:ICOR), a leading
provider of backbone software solutions for electronic information
exchange, demonstrates the high-performance of its recently announced
N-PLEX backbone software for managed Intranet applications and secure
access to the Internet for first time at the EMA '96 Conference. N-PLEX is
being shown on a ProLiant Pentium Pro server provided by Compaq Computer
Corporation as well as a WINSERVER provided by Sequent Computers. Process
Software will also join ISOCOR's booth demonstrate their Purveyor
WebServer, which is included in the N-PLEX backbone server. Other partners
in the ISOCOR booth include TSI and Stratus. TSI will demonstrate
electronic information exchange through their Trading Partner PC and
products and Stratus will show their fault-tolerant Radio server.

"We are demonstrating the breadth of ISOCOR's product offering at EMA'96,"
notes William Wolfe, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development.
"Our presence at EMA will effectively demonstrate our leadership role in
the messaging and E-mail industry by demonstrating multi-platform
applications supporting Internet protocols and X.400. ISOCOR highlights
its commitment to providing customers a complete, high quality electronic
information solution by partnering with cutting-edge technology leaders
such as Stratus, Sequent Computers, Process Software and TSI."

N-PLEX

Designed for use by corporations, government agencies and service
providers, the integrated applications provided by ISOCOR's N-PLEX
software include a robust Internet mail system and message store, a
centralized management center and the Purveyor WebServer. It features
high- performance implementations of SMTP, MIME, POP3, IMAP4, HTTP and
other Internet standards. N-PLEX options include Internet directory
services, X.400 MTA, gateway and message store, accounting and APIs for
programmatic access. Additional options enable seamless message exchange
between different Internet users and X.400 users (P1 and P7). The Internet
Directory Services option interfaces with Domain Name Servers (DNS) and
World Wide Web (WWW) servers. N-PLEX is optimized for a scalable,
multi-threaded Windows NT/Intel architecture, providing unprecedented
performance. ISOCOR will be providing ongoing demonstrations of the N-PLEX
product at Booth 501. EMA attendees will be given the opportunity to guess
how many messages per second N-PLEX can switch on the Compaq ProLiant
Pentium Pro. The attendee who comes closest to guessing the correct
number, will win a Ferrari Getaway. Twenty-five second prizes of Ferrari
Model cars will also be awarded.

ISOPLEX and PLEXLINK

ISOCOR's ISOPLEX, a full-featured, high-performance Messaging Server based
on X.400 and MIME, with X.400 P7 and Message Store will also be
demonstrated. The new release of ISOPLEX 4.2 includes an ADMD quality MTA,
P7 message store, accounting and security options and remote management
compatibilities. ISOPLEX 4.2 is fully X.400, 1988 and 1993 compliant.
Windows '95 users will be interested in seeing the demonstrations of
PLEXLINK (formerly MAPIWARE). The PLEXLINK product offers service provider
modules for Windows '95 based on Microsoft's Extended API architecture and
X.400 (P1 and P7), X.500 (Directory Access Protocol), plus DI and Security
modules.

The EMA '88 X.400 Challenge

As part of the Electronic Messaging Association Interoperability
Committee's '88 X.400 Challenge, ISOCOR allows Microsoft Windows 3.X
applications to be EDI-enabled, by using the Messaging Application Program
Interface (MAPI) defined by Microsoft. Personal ISOTRADE includes simple
EDI, an API specified and developed by ISOCOR. Similar in principle to
Microsoft's Simple MAPI, simple EDI defines high level functions and data
structures that enable applications to send and receive X435 messages
using MAPI over X.400. Simple EDI is implemented as a modular addition to
MAPI, to hide the complexity of the MAPI client interface and to be fully
independent from the MAPI service providers used. The '88 X.400 Challenge
effort began with the user requirement for message-based electronic
commerce. EMA was chosen as the forum for this effort because of its
recognized neutral leadership role in the messaging industry. The purpose
of the Challenge is to attain '88/92 X.400 interoperability among ADMD
service providers and software providers to establish a working
infrastructure to support message-based applications, particularly EDI.
Joining ISOCOR in the Challenge are MCI, AT&T, SITA, St. Paul Software and
Control Data Systems.

EMA'96 TSC SNMP DEMO

As a participant in the EMA '96 TSC (Technical Subcommittee) Demo on SNMP,
ISOCOR will demonstrate the SNMP monitoring capabilities of ISOPLEX
Message Servers. Paolo Malinverno, International Product Manager at
ISOCOR, who is speaking on X.400 and SNMP at EMA'96, explained, "The goal
is to demonstrate different vendors implementations of SNMP communicating
and interoperability, proving that users can mix and match managers and
agents from different vendors. Counters within ISOPLEX, keep a record of
the information outlined in RFC 1565/1566 (MADMAN MIB) and the EMA
document "Messaging Management Implementor's Guide: Monitoring and Message
Tracking." An SNMP agent running alongside ISOPLEX periodically issues
commands to ISOPLEX, gathering information on the various SNMP counters
and presenting this information via SNMP to standard SNMP managers.
Joining ISOCOR in the demo are Lotus/Softswitch and Control Data Systems.
