Solid Edge Mechanical Design Software and Imagineer Technical Precision
Drawing Software Added to NAVAIR/SPAWAR CAD-2

HUNTSVILLE, ALA., MAY 15, 1996 -- Intergraph Corporation (Huntsville, Ala.)
announced today that Solid Edge, the company's new 3D mechanical design
and drafting software, and Imagineer Technical, a 2D precision drawing
program, have been added to the NAVAIR/SPAWAR CAD-2 contract. Solid Edge
provides breakthrough performance for mechanical designers by combining
advanced parametric, feature-based, solid modeling tools with the familiar
Windows environment. The first high-performance mechanical design system
to satisfy Microsoft's requirements for compatibility with office
automation tools, Solid Edge has qualified for the designations "Microsoft
Office Compatible" and "Designed for Microsoft Windows 95."

Also designed for Windows 95 and Windows NT, Imagineer Technical
incorporates SmartSketch technology, enabling users to rapidly create and
modify smart or parametric objects. On the NAVAIR/SPAWAR CAD- 2 contract,
Solid Edge is priced at $2,398 and Imagineer Technical is priced at $198.

FIRST SOFTWARE FOR OLE DESIGN AND MODELING APPLICATIONS

Solid Edge is the first software package to incorporate Object Linking and
Embedding for Design and Modeling (OLE D&M) extensions that provide users
with the familiar Windows cut-and-paste, drag-and-drop integration when
using 3D mechanical parts and assembly models. Imagineer Technical is a 2D
precision drawing tool that bridges the gap between complicated CAD
software and basic drawing packages. Both Imagineer Technical and Solid
Edge can access native AutoCAD and MicroStation files, so that these CAD
files can be dragged and dropped into popular OLE-compliant applications.
Users now can work with data sets from any OLE-compliant CAD package
within a single model and without translation.

Unlike other mechanical CAD packages running under Windows operating
systems, Imagineer Technical and Solid Edge were designed to take full
advantage of the new technologies integrated into Windows 95 and Windows
NT. These include the Windows look and feel, automated installation,
electronic mail functionality, and support of OLE 2.0 objects,
drag-and-drop, and compound files, as well as OLE Automation. Solid Edge
augments the familiarity of Windows with an innovative user interface that
brings unprecedented convenience to high-performance solid modeling.
Built-in help, examples, and multimedia tutorials shorten learning curves
and build user proficiency rapidly.

Tom Baybrook, Vice President of Marketing for Intergraph Federal Systems,
commented, "Solid Edge and Imagineer Technical offer our Federal customers
the opportunity to integrate CAD with office automation products
throughout the organization, improving enterprise- wide communications.
Both products share the remarkable ease of use provided by leading-edge
Windows technologies, making them intuitive in practice and eliminating
the need for complex, costly training."

NAVAIR/SPAWAR CAD-2 CONTRACT

Intergraph Corporation was selected in 1994 by the U.S. Navy to provide
computer-aided systems and services for electronic and mechanical design,
manufacturing, and engineering (CAD/CAM/CAE). This indefinite delivery
requirements contract has a total value of $398 million. The award is a
major component of the Navy's $1.2 billion CAD-2 program for the
acquisition of CAD/CAM/CAE systems based on off-the-shelf, commercially
available technology. The contract includes procurement of Intergraph
systems and software technology for the first eight years as well as
technical services, hardware maintenance, and software support for an
additional four years.

The contract was awarded under the sponsorship of the Naval Air Systems
Command (NAVAIR) and the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR).
In addition to NAVAIR and SPAWAR, this contract enables other Department
of Defense activities and the United States Coast Guard to purchase
Intergraph's hardware, software and services.

Intergraph, based in Huntsville, Ala., has been delivering interactive
computer graphics solutions for more than 25 years. According to
independent market research surveys, Intergraph continues to be the
leading supplier of CAD/CAM/CAE systems to the U.S. Government.
