INTEL AND LOCKHEED MARTIN CORPORATION TO ADD NEW DIMENSION OF GRAPHIC
REALISM TO HIGH-PERFORMANCE PERSONAL COMPUTERS IN 1997

Jointly Developed 3D Graphics Technology to Use New Accelerated Graphics
Port Interface

SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 14, 1996 -- Intel Corporation and Lockheed Martin
announced they have signed a technology agreement that will bring
high-quality, real-time 3D graphics to high-performance PCs in the second
half of 1997. Intel and Lockheed Martin's Real3D company will jointly
develop a 3D graphics chip that will use the open Accelerated Graphics
Port (A.G.P.) interface specification to bring a new level of graphics
performance to the PC platform.

"Through this technology agreement, our goal is to bring a richer, more
life-like graphics experience to high-performance PCs using the A.G.P.
interface," said Carl Everett, senior vice president, Desktop Platform
Group. "The 3D applications that are beginning to appear demand high
system performance and the graphics subsystem is going to play an
increasingly important role in the architecture of the PC platform. The
result is that PC users will soon be able to choose the level of 3D
performance that meets their needs. Intel will provide the right mix of
processor power and graphics technology to support compelling 3D
applications on and off the internet."

Mr. Everett added "Because of the openness of the A.G.P. interface
specification, we expect to see a variety of innovative 3D graphics
products and solutions coming out in the future, with Intel's being one of
many."

"This new venture will give high-performance PCs the capability to produce
computer graphics scenes that are near photographic in quality," Gary P.
Mann president, Lockheed Martin Commercial Systems Group, said. "With five
to ten times the performance of currently available graphics solutions,
this development is going to redefine graphics as we know it today and
bring a richer, more life-like experience to PCs. PC users are about to
see a new level of graphic quality similar to the change photographers
experienced with the transition from black and white to color film."
According to Mann, this new venture will leverage Lockheed Martin's
previous investment in simulator and 3D graphics.

Real 3D brings proven 3D technology from the high-end military training and
simulation marketplace to the consumer arena. This technology transfer
capability has been demonstrated through an ongoing relationship with Sega
Enterprises in developing the highly successful arcade graphics hardware
platform, Model 2, and the recently announced Model 3. The company's
product line also includes the new R3D/100 chipset for the professional
level PC platform. Available later this year, R3D/100 is OpenGL-* and
Windows* NT-compatible.

The 3D graphics accelerator chip, currently in the definition stage, is a
single chip solution that will also include 2D and video capabilities, and
support Microsoft's Direct 3D API. Accelerated Graphics Port

Intel's Accelerated Graphics Port is an open interface specification
designed to give PC graphics controllers a low cost, high bandwidth, low
latency connection to system memory through future chip sets that support
the specification. The interface specification was made available
electronically on the web May 10, 1996 allowing graphics hardware vendors
and system OEMs to design A.G.P.-compatible hardware.
