ICONIX and SIGS to Distribute
"A Unified Object Modeling Approach" CD-ROM

In an announcement made today, ICONIX Software Engineering, Inc. revealed
the signing of a second distribution contract with SIGS Publications Inc.
Under the agreement, SIGS will publish "A Unified Object Modeling
Approach," the first product to provide in-depth training in
object-oriented methods on CD-ROM.

Following the same approach used in the successful CD-ROM seminar "An
Object Methodology Overview ," the new course from ICONIX is the second
course in a continuing series of Object-Oriented multimedia training
products being developed by ICONIX.

ICONIX president, Doug Rosenberg, stated, "Our first CD-ROM training course
provides a good start in that it helps to explain the big picture of O-O
methods in an incredibly short time. That's sufficient for many
organizations, but other clients have been clear in expressing their need
for "on-line methodology help" with the same level of detailed instruction
we provide in our on-site training courses. There's so much content into
this product that it requires over a Gigabyte of storage."

Anticipating the trend that has brought Booch, Rumbaugh, and Jacobson
together in an effort to unify their methods, "A Unified Object Modeling
Approach" offers extensive tutorials on the strengths of each method. In
addition, prototyping is stressed as a requirements definition technique,
with explanations on how to derive use case and domain models from
prototypes.

The double CD-ROM set makes extensive use of tutorial examples relevant to
systems being implemented today including: Video on Demand, Healthcare,
Financial, and Transportation.

Don Jackson, Editorial Director of SIGS Books, added "There is a wealth of
knowledge contained in "A Unified Object Modeling Approach" and we are
happy to offer that knowledge to our clients. Our first CD-ROM venture
with ICONIX has proven to be a success, and we expect this new offering to
be even more successful."

The 2 CD-ROM course will be available for Windows and Macintosh from both
ICONIX and SIGS in early March at a price of $995.00.
