Announced

Retrospective Search Capability Added

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 1 (Internet World, Booth # 1207) . . . IBM today
moved forward with its comprehensive strategy for delivering quality
content to business professionals via the Internet with the announcement
of several important enhancements to IBM infoSage, including commercial
availability of the service. IBM infoSage (http://www.infosage.ibm.com) is
an Internet-based current awareness service which provides customized news
deliveries twice each business day via Internet E-mail or a personalized
World Wide Web page. The service completed a successful beta test on April
18, during which thousands of people registered to use the service.

The IBM infoSage enhancements announced today will be available in May.
They include:

* Beta test for delivery of IBM infoSage via Lotus Notes. Availability of
IBM infoSage via Lotus Notes will allow corporations which have adopted
Notes as their intranet platform to cost-effectively access premium
business information and have it delivered through the Internet directly
to their desktops.

* Retrospective search capabilities. To complement the twice daily
delivery of profiled news and information, IBM infoSage will offer
retrospective search capabilities that enable members to get the news
behind the news. From the convenience of the member's desktop this
valuable feature will offer the opportunity to search and retrieve news
and information from more than 2,200 publications on a pay-per-view
basis.

"The Internet has made easy access to a wealth of valuable information a
reality in today's global marketplace, but increasingly, companies are
finding it difficult to cut through all the clutter." said Joseph A.
Damassa, vice president and managing director, IBM infoSage. "IBM infoSage
offers a solution to information overload by delivering a customized,
manageable package of the most relevant information that helps businesses
maintain a competitive edge."

IBM infoSage: An Intelligent Information Service for Business
Professionals

IBM infoSage provides up to 30 stories twice each business day on topics
ranging from news and business information to entertainment and sports.
Through the use of a powerful topic profile editor, IBM infoSage members
specify and personalize the topics of interest to them -- choosing from
over 2,300 industry-specific categories.

Information is tailored to suit individual needs and then delivered via
either the user's Internet E-mail, a personalized World Wide Web page on
the IBM infoSage Web site, and soon on Lotus Notes.

"My job demands that I stay aware of breaking industry news, but often I
just don't have the time to sift through piles of trade journals and
newspapers," said Jack Criswell, executive director, Sales and Marketing
Executives International. "IBM infoSage filters out news not relevant to
my personal profile of topics, saving me valuable time and delivering only
the news I want to read."

IBM infoSage is a subscription service priced at $24.95** per month. The
subscription fee for new members will be waived for one month upon signing
up for the service.
