EYEQ FROM DATATIMES: NOW, FLAT FEES FOR EVERYONE

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (May 10, 1996) -- Business online information pioneer
DataTimes today continues its tradition of breaking out of its industry's
mold by announcing new, lower monthly flat rates suitable for virtually
any-sized company.

DataTimes Online Services Division, the unit of DataTimes Corporation that
offers its EyeQ online network to business professionals across the U.S.,
said that effective immediately it has lowered the monthly minimum for
flat fees to just $250.

That new rate is the lowest among any of the large business online
services, and reflects DataTimes' aggressive push to make its online
network as accessible to business professionals, in as many industries and
regions, as possible.

Flat fees are determined by usage. The new lower monthly minimums are
designed to enable smaller companies to use EyeQ at an affordable,
predictable rates. For larger volume users, additionally attractive flat
fees will continue to be negotiated one-on-one.

EyeQ monthly flat fees had been $500 as a minimum, as are those offered by
most other large business online networks.

For business professionals with unpredictable online needs, DataTimes
Online Services will continue to market its low $39 per month basic
monthly subscription with additional charges of $2.95 to download, print
or display the full texts of retrieved articles and reports, with certain
other charges for in-depth financial reports.

EyeQ is a leading online service in the business information market.

Introduced in 1995, EyeQ continues to win praise for its combination of
comprehensiveness, ease-of- use and affordability. The network provides
access to the files of more than 5,000 sources -- including real-time
newswires, newspapers, magazines, trade publications, broadcast
transcripts, financial and regulatory databases and numerous other sources
of business news and information from across the U.S. and around the
world.

Some 50,000 new articles, reports, transcripts and more are added to the
system every day, and many of those are available electronically the same
day as first print publication or broadcast.

EyeQ version 1.2 will be released next week at The National Online Show in
New York.

"For years, business online information vendors, including us, started the
meter ticking whenever our subscribers logged on, and at outrageous rates.
So we were rewarding ourselves for making it difficult to use our
networks. The more time they spent online fumbling in the electronic
darkness, the bigger the invoice," said Allen Paschal, DataTimes
Corporation president and CEO.

"No more. We want business professionals to use our network as a day-to-day
tool to make them keener competitors and more knowledgeable managers, and
that means pricing the service at an affordable and predictable rate.
We're already made it as easy to use and simple to navigate as possible,"
said Paschal. "Now we're making it as inexpensive as possible, and that
will be a real boost to a lot of budget-sensitive companies."

The new lower monthly flat fees announced today saves the user a
subscription fee, communications connect time charges, and provides five
free electronic clipping folders. Certain financial information, such as
analyst reports or historical stock prices, carry surcharges, which are
always displayed onscreen before a subscriber commits to the expenditure.

Unlike information services on the World Wide Web or consumer online
services, EyeQ offers seamless searching of virtually any combination of
its 5,000 sources, without the user having to know where to look. Type in
a keyword or a natural-language sentence, and the EyeQ system in seconds
will find relevant articles or reports stored in its vast information
reservoir.

EyeQ also offers an array of built-in searching and information management
tools, including relevance ranking, electronic clipping, options to fax
retrieved articles and reports, and in an industry first, the ability to
order on-demand executive briefing reports for fax or mail delivery.

"The name of the game is making information work for the subscriber,
without a lot of fuss and wasted time," said Paschal. "EyeQ is an online
service that means business."

DataTimes Corporation is a leading international provider of business
information services. In addition to its U.S. online network and a new one
about to be launched in Great Britain for European business professionals,
the company also owns Intell.X, a subsidiary that sells filtered

World Wide Web, among other ventures.
