Peter Pan: The most ambitious Living Classic so far

One of the most delightful of all children's stories, J M Barrie's Peter
Pan, has been chosen to launch Europress' 1996 season of Living Classics,
the series of interactive animated storybooks on CD-Rom.

It is the company's most ambitious production yet, utilising the full power
of multimedia to tell the immortal story of Peter Pan and Wendy and their
adventures in Never Never Land. While some children's stores on the PC
limit themselves to 12 pages, this new version of Peter Pan encompasses a
massive 102 graphic screens.

When children enjoy Europress' multimedia recreation of Peter Pan, they
also help the many thousands of sick youngsters who are treated each year
at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. For every copy of Peter Pan
sold, a minimum of 40p goes to the hospital.

Peter Pan is available now and costs $(UK)19.99.

Gingerbread Man marks launch of new Read & Play series

Run and run as fast as you can - to see the launch of the new Read & Play
series on Europress' stand. This collection of multimedia products for
children from three upwards makes its debut with The Gingerbread Man, one
of the oldest of all fairy stories, and famous throughout the world.

Children can hear the story narrated by Daphne Oxenford, who made her name
as the storyteller in the BBC's Listen With Mother. To help word
recognition, text is highlighted as it is spoken and young users can also
enjoy many animations hidden in the colourful pictures.

The Gingerbread Man is available now and costs $(UK)19.99 (incl gingerbread
man recipe and cutter).

Tom and Huck on the way

Children will enjoy a taste of what it was like to grow up by the banks of
the Mississippi a century and a half ago with Tom Sawyer, the next in the
Living Classics series. Tom and his friend Huckleberry Finn, two of the
most colourful and mischief-making characters in the whole of children's
literature, burst into life on this CD-Rom version of what was acclaimed
as 'the first great American novel'.

Tom Sawyer is due to launch late April and is being previewed at this show.
