Europress announces Klik & Create distribution deal with Corel

Europress has sold worldwide distribution rights for its new multimedia
creation tool, Klik & Create, to the Ottawa-based Corel Corporation, but
this long awaited product will still be on demonstration at the Europress
stand.

Under the terms of the agreement, Corel receives global distribution rights
for Klik & Create with the exception of Japan. Corel will also retain the
rights to distribute future versions of Klik & Create which will be
developed by Europress and the product's authors Francois Lionet and Yves
Lamoureux in co-operation with Corel.

"Klik & Create provides a breakthrough in ease of use for multimedia
authoring," said Dr. Michael Cowpland, president and chief executive
officer of Corel Corporation. "With this product, almost anybody can
create multimedia titles, business presentations or screen savers. It is
aimed at a market similar to that occupied by Macromedia Director and
Authorware and includes strong editing tools, thousands of animated
objects and backgrounds, large graphics libraries and special features."

Europress managing director, Michael Meakin added: "As Klik & Create
development progressed, it became evident that the product had huge
potential for the development and professional communities. We had many
offers from around the world but it made sense to go with Corel because of
its international marketing strengths in these specific areas.

"Europress has been growing dramatically over the past 12 months and this
deal with a partner of Corel's calibre is obviously the very best news for
the company - both financially and strategically."

Corel plans to launch 16 and 32-bit versions of Klik & Create in May, 1996.
The price has yet to be agreed.

Klik & Create has already proven to be a speedy and powerful multimedia
development tool after being used by Europress to develop its top selling
range of Living Classics CD-Roms and the Topsy & Tim series for Penguin
Books.

Europress retains intellectual rights to the product and will also continue
to market its games creation package, Klik & Play, which is now available
in 35 countries and 14 different languages, and can be viewed at this
show.
