ELECTRONIC ARTS' EA SPORTS DIVISION ANNOUNCES PLAYSTATION AND PC CD-ROM
LINEUP TO BE SHOWCASED AT E3

LOS ANGELES, CALIF., MAY 16, 1996 -- The EA SPORTS division of Electronic
Arts (Nasdaq:ERTS), a leading global interactive entertainment software
company, today announced an outstanding lineup of new PlayStation game
console and PC CD-ROM interactive sports games to be showcased at the
Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) on May 16-18, 1996, in Los Angeles,
California.

EA SPORTS, the world's recognized leader in sports video and computer
games, will present key 1996/1997 products including:

TRIPLE PLAY 97

TRIPLE PLAY 97 for the PlayStation and PC exploits the newly-signed Major
League Baseball license making it the most authentic baseball title for
the casual and die-hard baseball fan. Realistic major league baseball
stadiums are 3-D-rendered capturing unique characteristics such as the
intimidating "Green Monster" at Boston's Fenway Park and the half-opened
roof in Toronto's SkyDome to the ivy fence at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
Triple Play 97 delivers 700 big league players, the 1996 opening day
rosters and updated statistics for every team. The game features a variety
of multiplayer modes including the ability to link up to eight players on
the PlayStation version. The PC version has real-time modem competition
capabilities and up to six can play simultaneously using the Gravis GrIP
System. And, players who appreciate baseball's power game can slug it out
in Triple Play 97's "Home Run Derby."

ANDRETTI RACING 97

ANDRETTI RACING 97 for the PlayStation is the only head-to-head racing game
that offers both Indy and Stock car competition. It features 16 different
courses, including four world-class Street and Oval tracks. Detailed 3-D
animations feature dynamic crashes with flipping cars and flying parts.
The game features head-to-head competition capabilities such as split
screen and a multiplayer option for up to four drivers. It also includes
three different camera angles -- in the driver's seat, above the car and
behind the car -- allowing drivers to keep an eye on the road and the
competition. Designed for novices and experts alike, Andretti Racing 97
can be fun and fiercely competitive. Serious racing strategists will grab
the checkered flag by mastering the ability to fine-tune the cars prior to
and throughout the race during pit stops. Casual drivers can select single
races to get a feel for the track before they jump into career mode and
start vying to become the top-ranked driver on the circuit.

PGA TOUR 97

PGA TOUR 97 for the PlayStation is the only golf game that offers exclusive
PGA TOUR championship courses and world-class professional golfers. It
features two new prestigious championship courses, TPC at Sawgrass and The
Links at Spanish Bay. PGA TOUR 97's new look and feel presents a cinematic
opening video and live commentary to provide consumers with an unmatched
golfing experience. New gameplay features include smarter artificial
intelligence that measures the difficulty of players' shots based on
real-life golf situations such as hitting out of sand traps or shooting
over water. New on-screen aids allow players to configure their viewing
window to see a reverse angle perspective and also view a pop-up window
that indicates where the ball will land depending on where the ball is
aimed. For the serious golf strategist, PGA TOUR 97 now features a "Course
Management" mode allowing game players to meticulously plan out shots
while the computer performs the final swing. This is different from the
traditional arcade-like playing manner, which is still available in this
version, where the player controls the actual golf swing.

TPC at Sawgrass Championship Course Disc The TPC at Sawgrass add-on disc
for PC-CD brings one of the most highly-acclaimed PGA TOUR championship
courses to life. Golf fanatics can now experience the most famous hole in
golf -- the 17th at Sawgrass -- while competing in THE PLAYERS
Championship Tournament. The TPC at Sawgrass course disc is compatible
with the currently available DOS version of PGA TOUR 96 and also for the
Windows 95 version shipping later this year. The Links at Spanish Bay
add-on disc is also currently available. Also being shown at E3 will be
FIFA Soccer 96, the world's top-selling soccer game and NBA LIVE 96, the
most realistic five-on-five NBA basketball game on the market.
