DSP Development Releases DADiSP/COMTRADE

MAY 28, 1996 -- DSP Development Corporation is pleased to announce the
release of a DADiSP module designed specifically for electrical engineers
at power utility companies. DADiSP/Comtrade is a menu-drive module that
extends DADiSP's importing functionality, allowing users to import
Comtrade (IEEE Standard Common Format for Transient Data Exchange) files.
DADiSP/Comtrade imports Comtrade data files by converting information in
the Comtrade configuration file (*.cfg) into a DADiSP header file which is
used by DADiSP's Import Facility, providing a complete import of data into
a DADiSP format. DADiSP/Comtrade runs from the DADiSP worksheet and is
accessed through the toolbar menu. The Comtrade toolbar menu option
utilizes DADiSP's easy-to-use pull-down menus which allow the user to
select the Comtrade Filename; PTR (Potential Transformer Ratio), CTR
(Current Transformer Ratio), and the default Series Prefix. Once the
Comtrade parameters have been defined via the module's menu system, the
Comtrade data is imported into DADiSP using the specific data acquisition
settings listed in the configuration file.

DADiSP provides a complete analysis, display, and processing environment
using Comtrade data. The Comtrade format was developed to allow for the
interchange of various kinds of fault, test, and simulation data. The
integration of DADiSP/Comtrade into DADiSP makes it easy to automate data
import and analysis applications completely through SPL (Series Processing
Language), macros, and command files. DADiSP/Comtrade is $495.00 for
personal computers. DADiSP provides an intuitive, spreadsheet-like, icon
and menu driven environment for displaying and analyzing data. DADiSP's
unique data management and display capabilities allow users to work with
data series, matrices, images, waveforms, and signals. The flexible
graphics-based spreadsheet combines the power of hundreds of built-in
functions to perform graphical data analysis, mathematical and statistical
analysis, data management, and FFT analysis. A student edition of DADiSP
is available, for free, for students registered at accredited
institutions, from the company's WWW home page (http://www.dadisp.com).

DADiSP is the first graphical, general purpose productivity software that
"speaks" the language of scientists and engineers. DADiSP puts powerful
data analysis tools on the desktop to manage and interpret large amounts
of technical data visually and interactively. DADiSP combines power,
flexibility, and a well-engineered spreadsheet style interface for
engineers and scientists facing an array of problem- solving tasks.
Founded in 1984, DSP Development markets graphical analysis and
acquisition software for scientists and engineers. DADiSP has long been
considered the standard for visual data analysis by thousands of engineers
and scientists worldwide.
