WEREWOLF: THE APOCALYPSE WILL RAGE ON 32-BIT SYSTEMS

E3, LOS ANGELES -- May 16, 1996-Capcom Entertainment today debuted
Werewolf: The Apocalypse for the Sega Saturn and Sony PlayStation. An
action/adventure game based on the wildly popular Storytelling system
created by White Wolf, Werewolf: The Apocalypse presents players with an
exciting new 3D isometric environment. Combining many elements of horror
and fantasy in a rich gothic landscape, Werewolf players journey through
18 levels in six worlds and three-sub worlds in their struggle against the
evil forces of the Wyrm. Werewolf: The Apocalypse represents one of the
first two products developed by Capcom Digital Studios, Capcom's US-based
Research and Development division. Werewolf is scheduled to release in the
third quarter 1996 and will sell at a suggested retail price of $64.95.

"We are extremely excited about bringing this product to market" said Greg
Ballard, president of Capcom Entertainment. "Werewolf is based on both the
incredibly popular card game, Rage and the Werewolf Storytelling system,
so there is tremendous interest in bringing this world to life in a video
game. The market for an action/adventure RPG like this is huge, and Capcom
is pleased to be one of the first publishers to offer this genre to
PlayStation and Saturn owners."

In this World of Darkness, the Garou, the werewolves of legend. struggle to
protect the forces of creation, Gaia, the Spirit of the Earth, is under
attack by the evil forces of Wyrm, who attack her like a cancer, choking
the air, poisoning her water, corrupting her land and people. The Garou,
Gaia's appointed protectors, rise up to face the call and answer the
challenge with their own savage fury. Their journey begins in San
Francisco and takes them to such exotic locales as the Russian Steppes,
the Amazonian Rain Forest. the green hills of Ireland. the Australian
Outback, and the dark streets of New York City.

Werewolf players are able to select from the group of seven characters,
with the option for one- and two-player simultaneous gameplay. All the
sprites are fully rendered, with the majority of the creatures created on
Silicon Graphics workstations (which allows for powerful special effects
like the character's fluid morphing between human, wolf, and werewolf
forms). The game itself is viewed from a fluid three quarters, top down
(isometric) perspective, and also has a free-floating "zoom" camera
feature, to keep the two players centered on-screen during the heat of
battle. Players will be able to build up Rage Points, which can be used to
transform your character between the three different forms, and Gnosis
Points for special magical attacks using the character's Gifts. Each
character that the player can choose from is unique, with their own
individual appearance and powers.
