STREET FIGHTER ALPHA 2 SETS A NEW STANDARD

E3, LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- May 16, 1996 -- Hot on the heels of the
blockbuster arcade game, Capcom Entertainment today announced Street
Fighter Alpha 2 will charge onto 32-bit systems with all the force of
Charlie's Sonic Boom. Catapulting on the success of its predecessor's
incredible release, Alpha 2 takes the best fighting game in the world and
improves upon perfection. Street FighterAlpha, released last February in
the US, has already sold more than 230,000 units. Alpha 2 promises to be
an even larger release. An unparalleled fighting experience. Street
Fighter Alpha 2 presents players with new moves, more deadly opponents and
loads of new secrets to discover. Seen here only in its arcade form, Alpha
2 is scheduled to release in the fourth quarter of 1996 for both the Sega
Saturn and the Sony PlayStation. It will sell at a suggested retail price
of $65.95.

Alpha 2 is more than just another upgrade to the incredible Street Fighter
saga. With 18 on-screen selectable characters, Street Fighter Alpha 2 sets
the record for most characters in a Street Fighter title. Alpha 2 includes
a host of new options, including high and low Alpha counters, mid-level
bosses, new music. hidden levels. additional moves and combos for each
character, and the all new Custom Combo system, which lets the player
create their own killer multi-hit combinations which, when used correctly,
deal out massive damage. Alpha 2 also has 20 brand new backgrounds, with
multiple layers of scrolling and awesome lighting effects. Some of the
backgrounds are interactive, and will react to actions taking place on
screen. On top of all of this. Street Fighter Alpha 2 boasts faster
gameplay, more precise control and rapid move reversals. 

All the fighters from the first game return, including the previously
hidden characters Dan, Akama, and Bison. Alpha 2 also sees the return of
Ryu, Ken, Sagat, Birdie, Sodom, Guy, Chun Li, Charlie, Rose. and Adon.
Joining the original characters are five new warriors - Sakura, Ryu's
talented pupil; Rolento, the crazed militant the Final Fight series; Gen,
Chun Li's master, from the first Street Fighter; and two favorites from
the Street Fighter II series, yoga master Dhalsim, and the Russian
wrestler Zangief:
