Best Power FERRUPS "Plug-and-Play" UPS models deliver even more convenience
and value in "bulletproof" power protection

NECEDAH, WI, May 1996 - Combining "bulletproof" reliability with standard
configurations, the new "plug-and-play" versions of Best Power's FERRUPS
uninterruptible power system (UPS) offer even greater power protection
value.

The "plug-and-play" units are designed for communications systems and
larger computer applications from 4.3KVA to 18KVA. Select rackmount sizes
also are available. The new systems are ideal for industrial and harsh
power environment conditions.

FERRUPS "plug-and-play" systems come complete with an input power cord
(where appropriate) and output receptacle. "This gives users a savings of
up to 8 percent over custom-configured FERRUPS models," says Brian Crowe,
Best Power vice president, sales. "And with the new "plug-and-play"
configurations in stock, Best Power will be able to provide even faster
delivery of customer orders."

At the heart of FERRUPS is a ferroresonant transformer that has proven to
be the most reliable and durable design in power protection. This patented
technology provides unsurpassed power conditioning, including protection
against sags, brownouts, surges, spikes and lightning strikes.

FERRUPS' extended brownout range conserves battery power by correcting sags
as low as 38 percent below normal without drawing on the battery,
extending battery life. Active Voltage Regulation enables power from any
AC source to be converted into computer-grade power. FERRUPS effectively
isolates electrical "noise" from nearby machinery or office equipment that
could adversely affect sensitive electronic equipment, and also isolates
harmonic distortion coming from the protected device which could reflect
back to premises wiring and weaken the effectiveness of other equipment.

Best Power, a unit of General Signal, is based in Necedah, Wisconsin, and
is a leading manufacturer of uninterruptible power systems which protect
computers, information networks and other critical systems from power-line
disturbances.
