AT&T EasyLink Services offers free gateways for most LANs

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- AT&T EasyLink Services today announced that AT&T Mail,
its value-added messaging platform, now offers easy access from the vast
majority of local area networks (LANs) to AT&T Mail through free gateway
software.

In addition to a new version of the AT&T Mail gateway available to users of
Microsoft Mail, users of Lotus and Novell LAN products (such as cc:Mail
and GroupWise) now can use AT&T Mail to extend the reach of their LANs
through AT&T's global network to communicate with virtually anyone,
anywhere, anytime. This gives users secure, reliable and accountable
messaging -- whether in the office, at home or on the road -- and allows
users to add electronic mail capabilities to their applications.

"With its robust connectivity options for LANs, AT&T Mail can help protect
customers' investments in their current systems, while assuring them a
migration path to new technologies and open messaging environments," said
George Cunningham, global portfolio management vice president for AT&T
EasyCommerce Services.

AT&T made the announcement at the Electronic Messaging Association's EMA
'96 trade show here, where AT&T EasyCommerce Services, which includes
EasyLink Services, is exhibiting its electronic commerce offerings.

AT&T Mail provides worldwide messaging capabilities to Internet and X.400
addresses, supporting multiple access methods and protocols. Messages also
can reach people who are not on electronic mail systems through easy
connections to fax machines, telex, and even through the U.S. Postal
Service.

AT&T Mail includes such security features as password protection,
restricted access to shared address lists, and delivery notification,
making it a valuable communications medium for companies' mission-
critical information and sensitive documents.

AT&T Mail is part of a versatile family of services from AT&T EasyCommerce
Services that can improve a company's communications with customers,
suppliers, employees, agents and others, helping them work together
effectively.
