AT&T makes it easy to put a custom storefront on the Web

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- AT&T is giving consumers even more reasons to surf the
'net by making it quick and easy for businesses to open storefronts on the
Web under their own brand. Today at Spring Internet World '96, AT&T
launched AT&T Easy World Wide Web Services (AT&T EW3 Services), one of the
industry's most aggressive end-to-end Web hosting offers for business.

For as little as $500 per month, AT&T gives companies a one-stop shop for
building a business-class presence on the Web. AT&T leads customers
step-by-step through the process, gives them easy-to-use site creation
software, hands-on training, access to talented web site designers, and a
reliable server space that a web site can "call home."

Businesses that sign up now for AT&T Easy World Wide Web Services will be
entitled to a special promotional price of $500 per month through June and
free hands-on training for two attendees at the AT&T School of Business.
During the promotional period, businesses do not pay usage charges. Usage
is an incremental charge for data downloaded from the site by web
surfers.

Beginning July 1, businesses with AT&T 800 or 888 toll-free numbers will
continue to receive the special monthly base price of $500 plus usage,
while other businesses will pay $600 per month plus usage. All customers
pay a one-time registration fee of $1,500. There are no term commitments
and the offer eliminates the large capital investment usually required to
host a web site in-house.

AT&T also announced that it is recruiting graphic designers and artists for
its innovative Creative Alliance Program. AT&T will provide a list of
talented designers to AT&T EW3 customers who request Web site design
services. In addition, AT&T is making its award-winning web-design
organization, AT&T Downtown Digital, available to businesses on a
professional services basis. Customers can independently contract with the
talent that best meets their needs, either AT&T Downtown Digital or other
web site designers.

"AT&T Easy World Wide Web Services can give any business its own branded
presence on the global Internet, backed by the security of a service
provider that will manage and maintain the back-end operations, " said
Kathleen Earley, vice president of AT&T EasyCommerce Services. "EW3 makes
it easy, by providing a shrink-wrapped offer that gets businesses on the
Web quickly and minimizes the up-front costs for hardware, tools and
support personnel needed to set up and maintain operations."

Customers maintain complete control of their web site content and can
quickly and easily change web pages by simply accessing and uploading data
through an 800 number.

The EW3 service includes:

A secure, reliable network-based hosting environment managed by
AT&T professionals 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

A single point of contact -- one phone call for all customer needs.

Bandwidth capacity on demand for peak and non-peak periods.

Microsoft FrontPage web design software that makes it easy to create
 a home page.

Online administration tools for on-going site management. Customers
control their own content, web design, and updates. Additionally,
the administration tools give customers access to site and usage
 reports.

A staging server behind a firewall that enables customers to preview
and make changes to their web pages before they are published
on the Internet. Customers use AT&T's WorldNet Service Dial
Access to connect to the staging server. This service is an
additional $19.95 per month for unlimited access to the Internet.

 Hotlinks from AT&T's Internet-based Toll-Free Directory
 (http://www.tollfree.att.net/) for AT&T toll-free customers. Web
surfers can click from a customer's listing on the AT&T toll-free
directory and jump to the customer's web site.

Registration of one vanity domain name with InterNIC.

100 megabytes of server storage for web pages and up to 300 megabytes
per month of usage, data downloaded from the site by visitors.

An optional two-day, hands-on training program.

During a five-month trial, AT&T EW3 Services successfully hosted
organizations of all sizes, ranging from the Pennsylvania Chamber of
Business and Industry (http://www.pachamber.org) to staircase manufacturer
Taney Corporation (http://www.taney.com) and EF Educational Tours
(http://www.edtours.com), a travel agency for schools.

In addition to offering AT&T EW3 Services, AT&T has applied its
leading-edge technology and networking capabilities for highly advanced
applications. For example, AT&T deployed a complex server and network
configuration for one of the most popular sites on the Internet, Disney
Online's http://www.disney.com.

AT&T EasyCommerce Services provides applications, platforms and transaction
capabilities to allow businesses to easily conduct business
electronically. AT&T EasyCommerce Services is the world's largest
messaging provider reaching over 160 countries and supporting AT&T's
message-enabled electronic commerce technologies, as well as web hosting,
and electronic data interchange (EDI).
