Apple and Macromedia to build new Shockwave components for Apple Cyberdog

WWDC, SAN JOSE, California--May 13, 1996--Apple Computer Inc. and
Macromedia, Inc. today announced an agreement to develop Shockwave for
Director for the Apple Cyberdog Internet software suite, providing
enhanced interactive and multimedia viewing on the Web for Cyberdog users.
Apple also intends to bundle the Shockwave plug-in with the Apple Internet
Connection Kit, which is included in many Apple Macintosh computers.
Macromedia's Shockwave part is an important endorsement of the
OpenDoc-based Cyberdog technology, which enables developers and users
alike to personalize the Internet for information access and management.

"Macromedia's Shockwave for Cyberdog is a concrete example of how Apple is
taking advantage of current leading-edge technologies to provide Cyberdog
users with a rich user experience," said Larry Tesler, vice president of
Internet platforms. "The Macintosh platform is leading the way towards
OpenDoc-based component software."
