The Capital Cities/ABC Multimedia Group and America Online Announce Today
the Launch of a Redesigned ABC Online

Revamped Service Has a Fresh, New Look, More Interactive Features, and New
Original Content from ABC Entertainment, News and Sports

New York, NY/Vienna, VA May 14, 1996 -- The Capital Cities/ABC Multimedia
Group and America Online announced today the launch of a redesigned ABC
Online.

The revamped service offers a fresh, new graphic look throughout all of its
programming areas. It incorporates more games and more message and chat
areas, giving AOL members more opportunity to interact with each other.
The service also features new, original content from ABC Entertainment,
News and Sports, including the newly created issue-oriented "ABC News
InFocus" and a fun-filled area of interactive activities for children,
"ABC Kidzine."

"We have tried to be sensitive to the members' interests and we have made
many changes based on what we have learned from them" said Katherine
Dillon, Vice President, Production and Technology, Capital Cities/ABC
Multimedia Group. "Usage of our service has been tremendous in the areas
in which members participate in the creation of content, and we are
involving them more through new activities we have designed based on their
ideas and their interaction."

"ABC Online continues to be a leader in creating original programming for
AOL, stimulating our members interest and interactivity in news,
entertainment, games, sports, and children's programs," said Ted Leonsis,
President of AOL Services Company. "We are delighted with the
ever-increasing popularity of ABC Online and expect to see this trend
continue as a result of their redesign as well as their continued
dedication to provide areas that encourage interaction like InFocus."

ABC Online debuted on America Online in October, 1994.

The service is designed to help members find activities more easily across
the ABC Online spectrum. A click of the mouse on one of the seven front
screen icons gives members instant access to the range of activities in
each of the content areas. "Games" lists more than 30 games available
throughout ABC Online.. "Posts" offers dozens of message boards which
range from "Good Morning America's Recipe Board to the Kidzine Jokes Board
to ABC Sports' Monday Night Football Board. Other areas are "Store,"
(merchandise) "Chat," (discussion groups) "Stuff," (video clips, photos),
"About?"(an online tool kit and other resources) and "Live." (auditorium
events).

The new redesign also provides members with a quick up-to-date front-screen
listing of ABC Online's new offerings each day. Following are highlights
of each area:

* ABC News InFocus - This area replaces ABC News on Demand. It is an
original news program created for the online audience. The site is
issues-oriented with original content and a weekly theme that enhances ABC
News programming. The goal of the site is to provide information and
stimulate debate, encouraging members to share their opinions. Each week
the area focuses on a controversial topic of public interest.

* ABC Kidzine - This is a dynamic, interactive and fun-filled place where
youngsters create much of the content. The site invites children to
participate in numerous ways, ranging from trivia games that stretch their
knowledge of current events to wacky stories where kids and their friends
can insert themselves into the plot.

* ABC Soaps - Fans of "All My Children," "The City," "General Hospital" and
"One Life to Live" can get the latest soap opera gossip and continue the
dialogue about their favorite characters and plot lines in this redesigned
area. New to the site are daily updates for viewers who missed an episode,
two new games and weekly trivia. The area also includes contests, chat
areas and even profiles and photos of the fans.

* ABC Sports - New content in this area includes a story of the day that is
accessible by clicking on the picture on the Sports front screen. Members
can also access the ESPNET Sports Zone web site. The redesign continues
coverage of all ABC Sports events, including The Triple Crown, Stanley Cup
Playoffs, The Nascar Winston Cup Race and "Wide World of Sports"
presentations..

* ABC-TV - This area includes ABC Prime Time, "Good Morning America" and
other ABC programs. It features behinds the scenes stories of the shows
and the stars and many interactive features in which members can be
involved. "Lois and Clark" fans will enjoy a special section devoted to
the program.

* Test Tube - Formerly known as ABC Beta, this site is one of ABC Online's
most popular. It has several new features, including "Indiefilm," which
explores the world of independent film making, festival news and reviews.
There is continued coverage of "Rock & Road," "America Out Of Line," the
highly popular "Jokes" and "Love Online."
