America Online Introduces Attractive New Pricing Plan

World's Largest Interactive Service Now Best Value and Experience for
Families and Consumers

Vienna, VA, May 8, 1996 --- America Online, Inc. today announced that its
AOL service will now offer an attractive, affordable pricing plan for
$19.95 which will give members up to 20 hours of use per month.

"Loyal members who have personalized the service for themselves, shared AOL
with families and recommended AOL to others are a big part of our success.
With the new plan, we are saying 'thank you' to these members and making
it easier and more affordable than ever before for them to share the magic
of AOL with their families," said Steve Case, Chairman and CEO of America
Online.

AOL members who want to take advantage of the new "20/20 Plan" can request
it through a simple online process. The plan, which goes into effect July
1, provides up to 20 hours of use each month for $19.95. AOL's standard
plan of $9.95 per month for five hours remains in place, and additional
hours will be $2.95 for both plans. This makes AOL's value-added
programming a compelling choice for active online users and potential new
members alike, with AOL's powerful tools for navigation empowering members
to easily access AOL's vast array of content and communities and
seamlessly segue to the Internet from within the service.

Case continued: "As the market leader, we believe we have sufficient
critical mass and momentum to attract and retain content and marketing
partners, to provide a rich, engaging and ever-expanding service for our
subscribers, to control our network destiny, and to generate new revenue
streams (from transactions, advertising, and merchandise sales.) This
should enable us to price our services affordably while still investing
heavily in innovation and build the subscriber base while reinvesting
network gains to insure great customer value. Above all, as we continue to
attract new consumers and compete for their loyalty, we plan to be
increasingly attentive to keeping AOL the best possible value and
experience for our members and their families."
